Creating for the holidays is so much fun with Crate Paper. I've used non-traditional colors and selected collections that are not holiday themed to create a couple of fun tags/ornaments for the holidays.
I first started with my color scheme...I wanted pinks, mint greens, aquas, gold, and white. After selecting items representing those colors from the Notes & Things and Open Book collections, I set to work.
I made this cute chipboard house look like a wintery cottage by simply adding glitter and mica flakes to resemble snow. I then used a few snowflake dies I had on hand along with coordinating paper to cut snowflakes to add to my scene. Lastly, I added a tiny bottlebrush tree to carry on with the Christmas theme.
For my next project, once again I selected some snowflake dies and coordinating paper, layering them and adding a die cut flower and leaves from the Open Book collection. Even though they aren't holiday themed, they still fit perfectly with my winter tag.
I loved this darling gold foil rabbit die, and knew that its funny little horns, would tie in perfectly with the holiday feel I was trying for.
Lastly, I added cardstock and foil stickers to both creations, selecting words or phrases that I thought might add a little holiday magic.
I love looking at my Crate Paper collections with new eyes and letting the seasons inspire me!
