Day to Day Disc Planner Layout with Lorilei

Hello, Crate Paper friends!  I am super excited to be diving into the Maggie Holmes Day to Day Disc Planner goodies!  Everything is so beautiful!

I thought I would start with the weekly page spreads.  I wanted to add a few photos to my spread, so I did some measuring and set up a template in photoshop to print my photos.

Once I had my photo spots picked out, I dove into Maggie Holmes heaven and looked through the lovely sticker packs.  I quickly discovered I better choose a "theme" so that I could make some decisions about what to use.  I wanted to use it all!  I chose the wild rose pattern sticker as my jumping-off point for the page scheme and used it to make my other choices.

For a little dimension, I stamped 3 of the pretty florals from the Day to Day stamp set, and fussy cut them. I added them in three spots around the spread to soften some of the edges.  I am in love with the little bookmark clips in this collection! I had to use the Floral Charm with the pink layered tassel and puffy rose.  Another subtle layer I added was the black dot washi tape, the washi tape sets are gorgeous, and I can imagine adding them to the bottom or sides of the weekly spread pages.  The top right box at the edge of the page is washi tape as well; the roll has different patterns of washi that fit the box exactly!  How genius is that?

I have not done much "planning" in my scrap journey; I do love to go back and fill out planners for memory keeping.  I look forward to continuing to play in the Day to Day Disc planner and see what happens.  I wanted to share my pages before I added heaps of journaling so that you could see the layout more clearly.  I am a bit messy when it comes to writing!  One thing I love about the discs is the ease of taking a page out; I can see running it through my typewriter to add journaling that way!

Crate Paper 2020-2021 Design Team Call

We are thrilled about your interest in joining the 2020-2021 Crate Paper Design Team!

As a member of the Design Team, you will be expected to create 2-3 projects per month, photograph them, size the images, and write correlating blog posts. Mini Pocket Planner with Sandra

Hi and welcome to the Crate Paper Blog. It's me, Sandra and today I'm sharing my Mini Pocket Planner that I created with the Disc Planner Punch Board and embellishments from the fabulous Day to Day Collection. I love this punch board because it allows you to create planners in any size and style you want to. The Mini Pocket Planner fits into smaller bags and it’s perfect to write down ideas and plans on the go. Let’s have a look at the pocket planner:

 

I started by cutting several pieces of paper to size 3”x 4”. I also cut two pieces of acetate foil to protect the cover pages.

Next, I used the Disc Planner Punch Board to punch all papers at 24, 37 and 50. I used these particular measures because they fit the Floral Charm Tassel Bookmark, which also has three punched holes.

Then, I added the discs. I started with the cover and the back. And then I inserted the papers step-by-step. It’s quite easy and it doesn’t take a lot of time to insert the papers into the discs.

Once the pocket planner was all set up, I started to add stickers, sticky notes and some stamped details. TIP: As a nice feature, I added a slip-in pocket. Just glue two papers together, add a notch at the top with a circle punch. The pocket is great for secret messages or flat memorabilia.   

My mini pocket planner is a nice addition to the large planner that is available with the Day to Day Collection. And you can add more papers or pockets if you need to.

8.5x11 Double Page Layout with Bea Valint

Hey, everyone! It’s Bea here and I’m so excited to be rounding off ‘Double page scrapbook layouts’ weeks here, on the Crate Paper blog! I have to admit that I rarely create a double page layout so today’s project was a little bit challenging for me. But trying new techniques and ideas is always fun, and I enjoyed so much moving out of my comfort zone!

This is the double page layout I created for today:

To create my layout I used the adorable Magical Forest collection. As you can see, this time I decided to use 8.5x11” size layouts as the parts of my project. For both pages, I chose the Childhood patterned paper as the background. I trimmed down the papers into 8.5x11”, and I placed them next to each other with the rainbow pattern side up, but in mirrored direction. I knew that I wanted to use a large photo to my layout, so I printed out one of my favorite photos of my daughter and me from last fall. My idea was to decorate mostly the left side of the layout, and to add the large photo with journaling tags to the right.

I started to create the left side with fussy cutting a bunch of beautiful flowers and leaves from the Meadow patterned paper. I also cut some simple flower shapes using my electronic cutting machine from patterned papers. I added dimension to the flowers with bending up the petals. I arranged all those beauties around the page, and used foam adhesive to add more dimension.

I chose a piece of ephemera with the meaningful ‘Grow like a wildflower’ phrase as my title. I adhered the title to the center of the left page with a fabric bow under.   

Magical Forest collection is jam-packed with cute animal stickers and I couldn’t resist adding the adorable bunny and fox sticker to my flower cluster. Can you find the tiny grasshopper sticker on the left side?

Double Page Layout Spread with Amber Leal

Hi friends! It’s Amber and I’m so happy to be up on the Crate Paper blog today sharing a fun double layout project! I had never done a double page layout before so it was refreshing to try something new when it comes to 12x12 layouts.

I decided to document two similar photos. They match nicely because they were taken on the same day and they capture the same floral arrangement. I wanted the two layouts to also have some matching similarities, but to also be different as well.

To start, I picked two of my favorite patterned papers. Then I mounted both of my photos of the same yellow floral patterned paper. On the pink paper layout, I decided to incorporate elements from the rainbow paper. I trimmed some of the rainbow stripes and adhered those down onto the top left corner of the pink paper. Then I trimmed a strip of the light wood grain paper and stuck that strip onto the bottom edge of the pink paper. I then started adding my ephemera pieces and cardstock stickers! My favorite addition is probably that lovely pink fabric bow.

On the rainbow paper layout, I wanted the rainbow stripes to be well seen. So I stuck my photo down toward the left side of the paper. I put it at a slight angle and then added my ephemera and stickers at angles moving downward as well. The “grow like a wildflower” piece was perfect for this photo! As a finishing touch, I added strips of washi tape to each side edge of the layout.

I really like how these layouts turned out because even though they look different at first glance, their colors, elements, icons, and photos are cohesive and match. They will look gorgeous side by side in an album, that’s for sure! I definitely may try to use this technique in the future. This is a great idea for documenting multiple photos from the same day or place.

6x6 Coordinating Scrapbook Layouts

Hi Ladies! It’s Flóra back on the Crate Paper blog. Today I am showing you a cute 6x6 double page. This is the first time I tried to make a double layout and to be honest it was a great challenge. It is always exciting to try something new. For today’s project I used the super cute Magical Forest collection.  I love every single bit of it. The cute critters and beautiful wild flowers are my favorites.

I have picked the Wildflower patterned paper for the background. I trimmed 6x6 pieces and placed one-one 3x4 photos on the pages. I fixed them with double sided tapes and lovely washi tapes on the side and top. I decorated the left layout with double rainbows, chipboard banner and tiny mushrooms. I added small fussy cut flowers from Meadow paper and some Chipboard stars. Love how it turned out!

I placed the title on the second page using the gorgeous Alpha Thickers. I placed a flag sticker from 6x12 Sticker Sheet and under the adorable fox from Chipboard Sheet. To create the connection between the two pages, I added stars to the right page, too.

It was a fun way to use the new Magical Forest collection. Make sure to try out how to create a double page. You can play with the sizes to find out what works best for you. You can definitely go big and try a 12x12 page, or make something small such as 8x8 or 6x6. Thanks for stopping by here!

Double Page Scrapbook Layout with Magical Forest

Hello, Crate Paper friends! It's Lorilei here with you today, sharing a double-page spread using the gorgeous and whimsical Magical Forest collection!  The Magical Forest collection is just so cheerful and happy, and I found myself being inspired by rainbows!

I started the two-page spread with the large layout (right side) I thought that would set the tone for both pages to flow together.  There are so many papers I love in the collection, so I trimmed my white background down to 10"x10" to layer pretty papers behind it!  I chose a large photo (4"x6") and built the page around the photo.  I had plenty of white space on the photo and the rainbow tag I cut from the Sunlight paper fit perfectly there.  The tag became the theme for both pages! 

I layered a strip of Sunlight paper behind the photo and embellished the page with a large clear sticker (Oh My Darling Make Your Own Magic) and the dream stamp from the Magical Forest Stamp Set.  I added the Make Believe banner and shimmery heart from the Magical Forest Ephemera pack to finish off the tag!

Next up, I tackled the left side of the double-page spread.  I should let you know that I have not made very many double pages!  This is my fifth time!  They do flow so nicely in an album!  I decided to approach the design of the page as though it was a pocket page.  I trimmed another piece of the Sunlight (rainbow) paper as a 4"x6" card I also trimmed the Willow cut-apart paper to serve as my "pocket" cards.  To further customize the cards, I used the base of the B card from the Willow paper and popped up the inside of the rainbow card on top.  Next, I went through the ephemera pack and pulled out bits and pieces to further enhance the feeling I was looking for!  I chose the Rise and Shine die-cut for my top main card.

I embellished my photos here and there with labels, word strips and the sweet copper puffy alpha stickers.  I added a bit of stitching to the spread for texture and a stitched white heart to each spread for more texture and dimension.

This was most certainly a fun project to work on; it is a great way to incorporate more photos and stories.  I love the way the pages are very different and go together so well, using a single collection makes easier work of achieving a nice flow!

Magical Forest Double Page Scrapbook Layout

Hello and welcome to the Crate Paper Blog today. It’s me Sandra and I’m sharing a fun double page scrapbook layout inspiration with the charming and wonderful Magical Forest Collection. To create the layout, I picked two photos from a beach trip that we went on a couple of years ago. To decorate the layout pages, I picked embellishments to match the colors of each photo and layered them with foam pads.

The two layout pages are styled in a clean and simple way to make sure that the spread as a whole doesn't look too overloaded.

Then I cut two patterned papers to size 8.5"×11" each. Next, I attached some washi tape from Magical Forest onto the back as a spine. This is such an easy way to create a little booklet from the two layout pages. When you open the booklet, our beach story unfolds.

I decorated the front of the double page scrapbook layout booklet with three cute stickers from Magical Forest.

I just love this little fabric bow. It adds some texture and dimension onto the page.

On the second layout, I framed the bottom edge of the photo with ephemera pieces from Magical Forest. And I added a cute balloon sticker onto the photo.
