Hey CP fans! We are so grateful for your excitement for Magical Forest and we are looking forward to seeing all of the gorgeous projects you will create with it! Since Magical Forest is inspired by children's book designs and the magic of childhood, we figured it would be fitting to create a mini album using a vintage book as the cover!
Lucky for us, Maggie Holmes created a tutorial a few years ago about how to make one of these, so we thought we would give it a try!
Isn't her project gorgeous!? Here is a little look at the mini album we made based off of her tutorial!
We chose a deep emerald green book as our cover and glued and stitched the "Imaginary" paper from Magical Forest to create a contrasting binding. We added chipboard stickers and a bow on the binding to finish it off.
Loving how the colors turned out in this collection. They are so fun to work with! Now for a look inside. Here is an up close look at how we inserted our mini album pages into the cut book pages.
It is so fun because it keeps the original width of the book, but you get to fill the pages with your own creations! Imagine how cute this would look on a bookshelf or coffee table!
We stitched the edges to add a little texture and make the pages a little more sturdy and durable. Do you add stitching to your projects? If you haven't tried, give it a shot! Such a fun and easy detail to add to a project!
Make your pages different shapes and sizes to add a nice variety to the album. Aren't those yarn rainbows darling!?
Even though there are a variety of colors in this collection, the muted tones feel so cohesive making this collection so easy to work with!
We had so much learning how to create this mini album and using Magical Forest to create it! Make your own and tag us in your projects #createwithcrate!
Until next time!
XO,
The CP Team
Ingenious!!!! However, just a note. The book and it's pages are not archivel safe.
