Hello and welcome to the Crate Paper Blog today. It’s me Sandra from the Crate Paper Design Team and I’m sharing a handmade gift card holder. The card holder is the perfect way to send a card and a small glitter gift voucher. I used patterned papers and one of the specialty papers from the 12 x 12 Heritage Project Pad. This pad and other items from Heritage are now available at JOANN stores.
The gift card holder opens like a normal card. On the left side, there is a slip-in pocket for a square card. And on the right side, you can insert a glitter gift voucher. The photo below shows the slip-in pocket on the left and the voucher on the right side of the card holder.
How to:
I cut two pieces of patterned paper. I used the first paper for the slip-in pocket on the left side (paper size 11” x 4”). I scored the paper at 5” and at 10”. This leaves a margin of 1” to glue the first and second paper together to make the card holder.
Then I folded the first paper and glued the edges on the left, on the right and at the bottom with double-sided tape. I left the top open to create a pocket. The pocket holds a cute handmade square card.
Next, I cut the second paper for the right side of the card holder (paper size 10” x 4”). I scored the paper at 5”. Before glueing the paper, I used a cutting knife to make a slot for the glitter voucher.
Then I glued the two papers together by using double-sided tape on the 1” margin of the first paper. In a final step, I decorated the cover with embellishments from Heritage and added two eyelets for the closure of the gift card holder.
Last but not least, I hope you like my booklet inspiration with Heritage at JOANN and are ready to create beautiful projects. Have a wonderful day!
Yours,
Sandra
