Welcome to the Crate Paper blog, friends! It’s Amber here, and I’m so excited to be sharing some creative – and simple – projects with you today! When it comes to scrapbooking, there are so many creative ideas and projects that come to mind. I have a running list of new project ideas I want to create, but sometimes I find the most pleasure in creating the simple ones.
Simple projects usually take less time and require maybe not as detailed of a technique, but the creative process and joy is always just as strong. I also love the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction I feel when I finish something creative in just one sitting.
One of the simpler of projects I enjoy creating are tags! These are so fun to make because you can make them as detailed as you want, and you can use them for so many things. They’re pretty quick to make, and you can craft multiple at one time for future use! So I decided I wanted to share with you 4 creative and simple tag projects.
There are so many ways you can get creative with uses for your scrappy tags! Below you will find 4 of my favorite uses for them. I hope you feel inspired to create some of your own.
The first tag project I created was a set of “name” tags! I love this idea for creative place setting at a dinner table for an intimate gathering. Imagine having your girl friends over for a craft night and welcoming them to the table with personalized place settings! You can also run with this idea for celebrations like Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthday parties, bridal/baby showers, and more.
The second tag project I made was a set of cute “book mark” tags! It’s always great to have multiple in case you want to gift one to a friend or if you’re reading a couple different books at once. You can also use them in traveler’s notebook, planners, journals, and more!
You can decorate them in a way to get you excited about continuing onward in your reading, journaling, planning, etc. For example, I loved using that stamp from the All Heart collection with the hand pointing forward, as if signaling to continue on to the next page.
The third project was a set of “drink” tags! These might be my favorite ones. They’re a fantastic way to dress your drinks when throwing a party or get-together. I crafted these ones specifically for mimosa carafes! They’re pretty much crafty “labels” for the berry and orange flavored juices. Can you imagine attending a bridal shower or brunch and seeing colorful juices in carafes with pretty coordinating tags?
You can also tie them to individual glasses such as mason jars with cute sayings like “drink me” or “sip sip hooray!” Possibilities are endless! This is one of my favorite creative ideas for using tags.
The fourth and last tag project is a set of “gift” tags. Now these are probably the most obvious, but they pack just as much flair and creativity as the others. I love adding a personal touch to gifts by tying on a handmade tag. It’s something creative and meaningful that is a simple way to tell someone you really care.
A fun idea is to create multiple at once so when a birthday or gift giving occasion comes up, you’re all set! Or better yet, if you’re needing to make some party favors for an upcoming occasion and want to add a sweet touch, get together with some of your best girl friends and use it as an excuse to craft gift/favor tags together. You’ll be creative and productive! Nothing beats adding a touch of your scrappy magic into your every day to make it more colorful.
I hope you’ve enjoyed these 4 creative tag projects and that you’ll try to make some of your own. All 4 sets of tags were created in just one sitting! They’re extremely simple and easy, but yet oh so fun.
