Hi and welcome to the Crate Paper Blog. It's me, Sandra from the Crate Paper Design Team. Today I'm sharing three DIY booklet ideas. The first project is a tag holder mini album. It will help you store and collect your favorite tags from Crate Paper. The second project is a blank journal with pages made from white cardstock and patterned paper. The third project is a blank journal with a cover made from the Specialty Paper with Gold Glitter Accents from Heritage. And there is a video for the first project: the tag holder mini album. Watch on Youtube how to make the tag holder mini album. Let’s have a look at the three DIY booklets now:
PROJECT 1: Tag Holder Mini Album
Collect your favorite tags and store them in a handmade mini album. All you need is one sheet of patterned paper for the base. And a second patterned paper to cover the front and the back of the album.
Instead of glueing the pockets with double-sided tape, I sewed the edges with my sewing machine.
Once the mini is finished, you can insert your favorite tags and handmade tags into the pockets.
And now watch the step-by-step video tutorial on Youtube to see how to make this tag holder mini album.
PROJECT 2: Journal with Card Cover
You can never have enough journals to write down your thoughts and memories, right?! The second DIY booklet is a blank journal. The special thing about this journal is the journal jacket. I used a card from the Boxed Cards Set from the Heritage Collection. The inside pages are either white or made from patterned paper. In addition, I bound the book with the Journal Book Binding Punch Guide from We R Memory Keepers.
Grab your favorite card from the Boxed Cards Set. Cut white and patterned paper journal pages to fit inside the card. Once the base is done, use the Journal Book Binding Guide to bind your journal.
TIP: You can add pre-made pockets from the Cards and Envelopes Stationary Pack and glue them onto the journal pages. They are perfect for storing photos or little notes in your journal.
PROJECT 3: Journal with Specialty Paper
For today’s final project, grab the Specialty Paper with Gold Glitter Accents to make the journal jacket. Cut the paper to size 4” by 12”. Next score the paper to make a spine that is approx. 1/4“ wide. The following photo a detail shot of the spine from above.
Now cut the inside pages from white cardstock and patterned paper. Score all inside pages. Make sure that the spine of the inner pages is a bit smaller than ¼”. Finally, glue all pages onto the spine with double-sided paper.
And now decorate the cover of the journal with stickers and handmade paper flowers.
I hope you like my three DIY booklet ideas with the Heritage Collection.
Have fun creating today!
Yours, Sandra
