Hello, CP fans! Enza here to share a new project featuring the gorgeous Heritage collection. I love making my own Traveler's Notebooks. I truly enjoy the process of choosing patterned paper for the cover and all the embellishments that make it extra special. It seems like every time I get my hands on a new collection I feel the need to make new ones. The colors and patterns in the Heritage collection are absolutely fantastic and perfect for monthly Traveler's Notebooks for the upcoming fall season - with school starting soon, these could be very helpful in keeping you organized.
Here the are:
You'll need the following supplies:
- printer paper
- patterned paper
- trimmer
- bone folder
- We R Memory Keepers Bookbinding Tool
- thread
- embellishments.
I started by trimming nine sheets of copy paper to measure 8.5x8.25 inches – I wouldn't do more than nine sheets, as it gets harder to get even edges. I folded them in half and did the same with the cover.
For two of the notebooks, I chose the saddle stitch piercing; it's fast and easy, and I love the simple look. I positioned the crease of the folded sheets in the V-shaped section and placed the guide on top facing down. The screws helped secure the paper and keep it from shifting. Next, I used embroidery floss in coordinating colors to stitch pages and cover together.
For the first TN's cover I chose the “Lifetime” paper, with its fun speech bubbles and sentiments. I layered a vellum envelope from the Cards and Envelopes Stationery Pack in the center and topped it with an oval frame and three butterflies I fussy cut from the “Recollection” paper. The “Sarah” Foam Alphabet Thickers were used to spell out the first three letters of the month.
The second TN features the “Elsie” paper, which is one of my favorites. Here I placed a label sticker towards the top of the cover and used it for the month. I then decorated the rest with a few ephemera pieces and the adorable girl that comes in the 6x12 Sticker sheet.
Last but not least, my third notebook. This cover was a bit more time consuming, as I used the Japanese Bound Piercing to put it together, but oh so worth it! The main difference from the other two is that instead of folding the papers in half, you want to trim each piece to measure 4.25x8.25 inches. To decorate it, I used the pretty Paper Flowers that are part of the collection; I simply wrapped the stems around the binding thread, added some washi tape along the length, as well as a few other embellishments and the month to finish.
I hope you enjoyed this quick tutorial. Thank you for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day!
