Hello CP fans! Enza here, and today I'm so excited to share my very first project with the gorgeous Heritage collection by Maggie Holmes. The colors and patterns in this collection are amazing! I love them so much! Perfect for fall and to document any special moments in your life.
Fall is my favorite season and, although we're still in July, for me it's never too early to start preparing for it. I thought it would be fun to create a flower wreath to hang on a wall, in front of a window, or on your front door. The Heritage collection is perfect for it.
I purchased a 12” wire wreath at my local craft store – you can go bigger or smaller depending on where you want to place your wreath. I then cut layered flowers with my electronic die cutting machine from a variety of patterned paper from the collection. I did the same with the leaves, for which I used dark green and mustard colored papers.
To make the flowers look more realistic, I curled the petals inward with the help of a bone folder; I then adhered the layers with hot glue. For the center, I used old brads I had in my stash.
Once all the flowers were ready I arranged them around the wire, alternating sizes and colors; the leaves were placed behind the blossoms and in between the petals.
The glitter butterflies that come in the collection are adorable; I adhered them here and there on the flowers with foam dots, just to give them more dimension.
To hang the wreath, I wrapped 1 ½” macramé ribbon around the wire directly behind a flower – I think it adds a soft, romantic touch to it.
I hope you like this project and will feel inspired to start creating for the upcoming fall season using the gorgeous Heritage collection.
Supplies: Heritage – Homestead (350926), Olive (350924), Generations (350928), In Memory (350938), Handwritten (350939), Keepsake (350934), Embellishments (350954).
Cute. How did you attach the flowers/leaves? Did you hot glue the flowers directly to the wire?
