Hello Crate Paper friends! Lorilei here today sharing two super cute interactive pop-up cards! I used the Hooray collection and the Willow Lane collection to make the cards!
My first card uses Hooray! I think this would be a fun card to receive! The card folds down flat so that you can put it in an envelope. I did stuff mine full, but it still flattens out! I used my Silhouette to cut design by Lori Whitlock. I started with the Confetti paper as my card base, cut all the pieces on my Silhouette, and adhered the base together. I used a combination of tape adhesive and liquid glue to make sure it was strong!
I found the cute Happy Birthday that sits on the front of the flip down from the cut apart sheet; I used the template from the cut file to cut it out of the rectangle card. I decorated the side flaps with the printed foam stickers. Next, I spent some time going through all the Hooray embellishments I had. I quickly learned that I would need to find pieces that would stack together in a stepped fashion so that you could see all the pieces when you are looking at the card. Adding pieces on different sides of each layer helps the pieces show as well.
Hooray had so many perfect items for this type of card! I chose pennants, a cake, stars and the super cute gal for the theme of the card. To add to the layered feel, I did add some foam adhesive to some of the embellishments. I also glued one of the sparkly stars to a skewer so that I could have it layered behind the cute gal. Once I was happy with the layered design, I made sure everything was well secured so it could go through the opening and closing of the card!
My second pop up card features the Willow Lane collection! I wanted an everyday type of card, and I love the sweet houses and critters in Willow Lane. I chose my papers and pre-selected some embellishments for the card. I went with the pretty turquoise paper for the base. I put the base together and added the pops of black and white paper to the flap. The teacups were just too cute not to use on the side flaps, and the front features a sticker with some layered puffy stickers and a cardstock sticker.
This view shows you the inner workings of the card. The "hinge" allows the card to fold down for an envelope. The lemon tree I have on the back panel does stick out a bit, so a custom envelope will be in order for this card!
I love how this card turned out! I may keep this card sitting on my scrap desk :) This type of card would be fun to make with Crate Paper La La Love You too! The sky is the limit!
I hope you have enjoyed my cards today; I sure had fun making them, you could use the layering ideas on a scrapbook page or a traditional card as well! Have a great creative week!
