Hi Crate Paper Lovers! It's Flóra here today showing what you can make with your travel photos beside putting them in a cute mini album. I decided to turn them into a home decor and display them in the kitchen or in my office. How? Make DIY photo magnets.
I picked my favorite Maggie Holmes Sunny Days patterned papers (Seaside, Pool Time, Parasol, Peachy) and trimmed 2.5 x 3.5 inch rectangles from each. I have used the We R Memory Keepers Frame Punch board to turn them into paper frames. I chose Polaroid style so I got more place on the bottom for decoration.
I backed the frames with my favorite vacation photos and trimmed down the edges if it was needed. I added tiny stickers from 6x12 Cradstock, Clear and Chipboard Sticker sheets. I really love all the beach and summer elements. The phrases are awesome and the small sizes I perfect for this project. Also placed few charms and Rhinestones because the more the better.
In the end, I reinforced the framed photos with a chipboard piece and adhered a glue in the middle. If you have self adhesive flexible magnetic sheet you can use it as well. This will be a 2in1 solution.
That was it for today! I hope you will try out the DIY photo magnets in the near future! Thanks for stopping by!

Wrap around a toothpick and place in a cupcake. If you are throwing a little party, this the perfect way to make it extra special.
Embellish your journal or planner. You can carry the washi tape in your purse and add it to your travel journal or even tie it to the binding like Bea did here. The All Heart Washi Tape has the perfect prints and solids for your journals.
Create frames around your favorite ephemera and add to a wall collage. You can make the cutest geometric shapes with washi!
Decorate a canvas for home decor. It becomes the perfect personal touch for any room in the house and they are so easy to hang!

Hello, crafty friends. I'm back today to share a layout featuring the gorgeous Sunny Days collection. I love documenting our vacation memories; how happy and relaxed everybody is, the laughter, the playfulness, and in general the good times. I wanted to create something summery and fun, so I picked a yellow background and a sun rays cut file to start with.
The patterned paper I used as my base is actually from Willow Lane – I thought the hue was perfect for what I had in mind. I backed the circle of the cut file with the “Collected” paper, while for the rays I used the gold glitter paper that comes in the Project Pad available at JoAnn's stores. It's so sparkly!
Once the background was ready, I fussy cut several embellishments, from flowers to sentiments to butterflies, and adhered them around the circle. I started with the flowers, which I arranged behind the quote and the photo.
To give the design more dimension, I used foam adhesive and lots of layers. I matted the photo with blue patterned paper and backed it with two tags and more flowers. I adhered the cute pink camera on top and two blue butterflies in the upper left corner.
For the title, which I placed on opposite sides of the circle, I used glossy puffy stickers to spell “Summer Memories”. A couple more butterflies and the date completed the layout.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I truly enjoyed creating this page. How do you document your vacation memories?

Hello Crate Paper friends! Lorilei here today sharing a layout all about vacation memories! I used the gorgeous Maggie Holmes Sunny Days collection for my page! I love that Sunny Days is so versatile with plenty of icons and embellishments to choose from!
I started my layout with a piece of white cardstock. As I was looking through the Sunny Days 6x8 paper pad, I wanted to use so many of the patterns; I thought a cut file title would be great to show off lots of papers! I put together a title in photoshop and cut it out of white cardstock on my Silhouette. I backed each letter with a different paper, focusing on pinks, blues, teals, and yellow.
Once I had the cut file title done, I decided to go with a colorful painted background. I added paint puddles with the packaging technique and matched the colors with the papers in the title. While the paint puddles were still wet, I blew through a straw to make drips with the paint. The painted area of the background is wider than my title, so the colors don't quite match up with the title papers, but they are still in the same order, so that worked for me!
Once my background was good and dry, I added foam adhesive (2 layers) to the back of my title and adhered it in place. I picked a spot for my photo and added that next. I fussy cut a large and small pink flower from the Splendor paper to tuck under my photo and my title. I found the sunshine sentiment card on the Happy Place cut apart sheet, and it fits perfectly beside my photo and above the yellow papers in the title.
I couldn't quite find anything to fit into the teal area beside the photo, and then I spied the puffy sticker sentiments "Let's Go" and "summer" I loved how the pops of black tied everything together and added to the title! For my finishing touches, I added sea shells in coordinating colors and a few of the clear stickers from the Sunny Days Sticker Book.
At the very end, as I was tidying up, I spotted the teal bird on the sticker sheet and popped her on! I love how my layout turned out! Sunny Days is so fabulous for vacation memories! Happy crafting!

Hi and welcome to the Crate Paper Blog! It's me, Sandra. And today I'm sharing a fun DIY vacation mini album inspiration. I used photos from my recent trip to Los Angeles, which was really fun and exciting. Above is an accompanying video tutorial, where I guide you through the process of creating this mini.
The special thing about the mini is the cover. I used adhesive p.p. film to protect the paper cover. You can create the mini album without the p.p. film. However, the film adds strength and durability and will help keep your mini album looking great and clean for a long time.
The album is made of a cover and two three-fold pages. You can find the measures of the cover and the album pages further down.
One of the pages has a see-through window where I added golden sequins. This adds a playful and elegant touch.
The album has a few interactive pages with pockets to store photos. You can take the photos out of the pocket and have a look at them.
And I used larger photos and smaller photos for more variety.
Some pages are decorated with washi-tape, stickers, rub-ons and journaling.
And here are the measures for the cover and the album pages:
Quick DIY steps mini album:
Last but not least, I hope you like my DIY vacation mini album inspiration with papers and embellishments from different Crate Paper Collections.
Have fun creating today!
Yours, Sandra

Hello everybody, thanks for stopping by the Crate Paper blog today! My name is Bea Valint and I have a new mini album to share using the stunning Here and There collection. This mini album is all about our weekend in Seville, Spain – the colors and the theme went together perfectly with Here and There!!
Two years ago I taught a summer themed mini album online class, and I thought it would be fun to create a new album with following the instructions of my class. I enjoyed so much to watch the videos and put together the album again!
I started my album with creating the cover. I used 2 pieces of heavy cardstock as a base, and I covered them with patterned paper. I attached the covers with clear plastic and red fabric. I also added two pretty tassels to the spine from the collection.
The divided the inner side of the mini album into two parts. I arranged the main pages to the left side of the album, and adhered a lot of various pockets to the right. Perfect space to hold additional photos or tiny memorabilia.
This way the mini album became interactive and easily expandable.
The main element of the pocket cluster on the right side is a classic 0.25” deep paper pocket. I placed tourist maps and tickets into the pocket which I collected on our trip. I also put paper envelopes from the ephemera pack into the pocket to hold tiny memorabilia. I adhered a vellum pocket to the left side of the center pocket and a folded paper pocket to the right. To add more interest, I created a shaker card using tulle, and attached to the top of pockets as an interactive element.
To create the main pages, I used patterned papers and white cardstock. I folded the papers in half or in three, and tied them together with ribbon. I adhered the papers to the inner side of the front cover with double sided tape. I wanted to keep my album clean and simple, so I decorated my album with only a few stickers, ephemera pieces and washi tapes.
To add title to my album, I backed the glittered alphabet stickers with patterned paper, and arranged them to the center of the cover.
Thanks for joining me today and well done if you made it to the end of this slightly long post! But I hope you’re also inspired to create your own vacation mini album!

Hi friends! Father’s Day is coming soon, and I have a super fun, easy craft that can be done for any Dad.
When we got our assignments for Father’s Day crafts, I was excited to brainstorm ideas. It’s definitely a creative challenge, at least for me, since my style is typically pretty feminine and bright. I wanted to create something that was more masculine as well as functional.
The idea of a gift basket came to mind, and I knew it’d be the perfect Father’s Day craft! With a gift basket, you can include actual gifts your father would like, while still incorporating a creative touch of scrapbooking!
I thought the easiest, most functional way to construct this kind of gift basket was to use a sturdy wooden crate. This way, you could include even heavier items inside. And you can embellish the crate any way you like!
You can certainly use this same craft for any kind of gifting occasion, and decorate according to your recipient. Since this gift basket is for Father’s Day, I went with darker and neutral colors.
Oddly enough, I found most of my “masculine” paper and embellishments from the All Heart and Sunny Days collections. The hunter green colored paper from All Heart was the perfect backing for the crate planks.
To do this, I measured the size of the planks on the crate. Then I used my paper trimmer to cut paper strips to fit the planks. I used adhesive tape and glue dots to secure the paper strips in place.
One the paper strips were secure, I used the gold glitter thickers and puffy alphas from Sunny Days to spell out “Best Dad Ever.” I arranged the phrase to the right side of the crate.
And to the left side of the crate, I arranged an embellishment cluster using ephemera, stickers, and chipboard from both collections. I loved the “XO” ephemera card! The black chipboard camera and the striped heart were also favorites.
Once the embellishing was complete, I filled the basket with some paper grass. After that, it was ready to be filled with gifts! This was such a simple craft and serves as the perfect creative touch for a Father’s Day gift. This is such an easy, fun craft and I hope you’re inspired to give it a try!
