Hi and welcome to the Crate Paper Blog! It's me, Sandra. And today I'm sharing three ideas how to create interactive cards:
- Add pockets to the back of your cards to slip in journaling tags or additional messages.
- Make a cute shaker window element with pom-poms and sequins and place it into a circular cut-out.
- Create a fun 'sticker-on-a-stick' embellishment with a bow to embellish your cards.
First, let's have a look at all three cards:
And now on to each card in more detail.
Card 1
For the first card, I made a card base from patterned paper. Then I layered a second piece of patterned paper underneath the wood frame from Flourish.
Next, I attached glitter paper with a semi-circle cut-out at the top onto the back of the card with double-sided tape. I used the tape on the edges of the glitter paper to create a pocket. Then I cut a journaling card to fit inside the pocket. I also attached a strip of paper with a stapler onto the top of the journaling card. That way it can be pulled out easily. In a final step, I added a beautiful paper flower, some leaves and a word sticker onto the front of the card.
Card 2
The second card is similar to the first card: it has a slip-in pocket at the back to hold a decorated journaling card.
To decorate the front of the card, I attached a sticker onto a wooden toothpick and added a cute little bow and a word sticker. You can use any sticker you like to create individual 'sticker-on-a-stick' elements.
Card 3
The third card has a circular cut-out where I placed a handmade shaker window element.
When you open the card, the shaker element with pom-poms and sequins will show together with a message to the receiver of the card.
Last but not least, I hope you like my interactive card inspiration with bits and pieces from three beautiful Crate Paper Collections.
Have fun creating today!
Yours, Sandra
