Hello Crate Paper friends! I am excited to share a new layout with you today that uses the new Flourish Project Pad available at Joann stores! The Project Pad is full of stickers, patterned paper, glitter cardstock, and gorgeous solid color paper. I made my entire layout only using the Flourish Project Pad and a pack of Wood Veneer frames! I hadn't set out to only use it, but it has so many lovely pieces that it was like having a whole collection all together in one spot!
Once I went through the project pad and had a color scheme in mind (blue, teal & yellow), I chose a piece of white cardstock and added some clear gesso to it. I used blue and teal paint with the smooshing technique and added a bunch of blue color to my background with some splatters of teal. I wanted my background to be fresh and not too dark.
The With Love card kicked off the whole layout. I loved the pop of yellow for a springtime feel. I chose one of the wood veneer frames and added two coats of white gesso to the frame, and once that was dry, I dry brushed white paint over the top. It gave me a bit of a two-toned white on shabby white feel. I layered the with love card on top of the frame for a focal point beside my photo.
Next I fussy cut the pretty white flowers sprays, I left a yellow border around some of the flowers to make them pop and to include more yellow in the page. I also fussy cut the teal butterflies and layered them together with some stitching for a dimensional element. I added one of the three floral note cards behind my photo with some scrappy white papers and a doily. I decided to stagger my photo and white frame to draw interest to that area.
My layout came together pretty quickly, since I had all my parts and pieces made ahead and fussy cut. I added lots of foam for dimension on this layout as I wanted it to feel full and layered. I added gold leaves from the sticker sheet around the white flower sprays. I even added foam adhesive to the edges of the leaves so they would stay popped up and dimensional! I sprinkled some gold and blue sticker hearts around the main area of the layout, and the final touch was two sticker labels in the pretty blue color!
I loved using the Flourish Project Pad! Be sure to check it out at Joann's!

What is gesso, why use it, and where can I get it?
