Hi friends, it's Amber here today on the Crate Paper blog! I hope you all are ready for this super fun Easter project I'm sharing today. It was such a joy to create!
Easter is coming up fast, can you believe it? I love Easter because it's full of bright colors, pretty sun dresses, yummy candies, and fun games. There are so many fun things to do, and I don't mean just for the kids. We are celebrating Easter this year for the first time in our brand new home, so I wanted to do a craft to make it a little more special!
I decided to create Easter candy egg cartons to give as goodie boxes! It's the perfect way to share something sweet with an Easter twist. And the best part is that they're very simple to create.
I started out by gathering several of the half dozen egg cartons. Yes, you'll have to figure out what to do with the eggs inside, but if you're like me, you'll boil them and whip up some delicious deviled eggs for Easter brunch! Or you can make colorful Easter eggs with your kiddos and hide them for an egg hunt!
After my cartons were empty, I painted them. The acrylic paint set from the Sunny Days collection is perfect for this! I think the colors fit nicely for Easter.
Once the cartons were painted and dry, I moved on to my favorite step of every project - the embellishing! The Sunny Days collection was simply meant for this project. Its colors are bright and really help pull off the Easter theme.
I started on each carton by layering two patterned papers down on the top. I rounded the corners of the papers, then used adhesive tape to secure them down.
After the patterned paper tops were secured, I added some embellishing. The paper flowers were the perfect toppers for the cartons so I stuck one down on each. I then stuck down some puffy sticker hearts.
To finish them off, I put a clear sticker phrase on each carton. Afterward, I took some twine string and wrapped it around each carton to secure them closed.
After the egg cartons were complete, I filled them with sweet treats! Since there were six different pockets for six eggs, I put different candies in each pocket. The candies I chose were Starburst jelly beans, Sour Patch eggs, Reese's Peanut Butter eggs, Peanut M&M's, Crunch eggs, and Peeps Marshmallows.
Once the cartons were filled, I tied them back up and they're currently waiting patiently to be given away on Easter! They're so festive, creative, and pretty. I can't wait to give them away to my family so they can enjoy the sweetness inside. For me, it's the paper sweetness on the outside that brought the most joy!
I hope you're inspired by this Easter project! Have a beautiful day, friends!
