Hello, CP friends! Enza here, and today I'm sharing two Father's Day cards using the Here+There and Wild Heart collections.
With less than a week left to the big day, I thought that simple cards would be the way to go, especially if you feel inspired to recreate them. Other than a little bit of die-cutting, the rest is pretty much layering of different elements, such as ephemera pieces, stickers, patterned papers and tags.
For my first card, I used the Here+There collection.
I started by trimming the card panel to measure 4”x5.5”. I wanted a dark, bold background, so I went with the Check-in patterned paper for its rich brown color. Although this is specifically a travel collection, the variety of patterns and colors works for any type of projects. I layered two additional patterned papers to create sort of a frame for my embellishments. I then went to town with the layering. I knew I wanted to include an interactive element, so I used one of the envelopes in the collection as my first layer. I trimmed a photo of our kids to size, punched a whole at the top, and added some pink ribbon to pull it out of the envelope.
I love the paper with the colorful scooters! I trimmed it into a banner shape and backed it with the same Check-in patterned paper I used for the card panel. I then layered a tag behind it and one on top. The sentiment comes from the Good Vibes Specialty Cardstock; I think it's perfect for a Father's Day card! To finish the card, I fussy-cut a bigger scooter out of the City Views patterned paper to place below the sentiment, added a sticker heart, and adhered the whole panel to my white card base.
The second card features the Wild Heart collection. I love how bold and masculine it turned out!
As always, I started by trimming my card panel to size (this time 4”x5.25”) and creating sort of a frame for my elements. I picked darker colors and geometric patterns, with a pop of yellow to brighten the card up. I then die-cut the letters from the Thrive paper and adhered them on top of three circles cut out of the Electric paper. I think it creates a nice contrast and really makes the letters stand out.
“The best day” sentiment comes from the Wildly cut apart sheet, while the other two smaller ones are from the Flourish collection. Two tiny blue hearts and some twine wrapped around the card panel added the final touch.
