Celebrate 4th of July: Layout

Hello everyone! Enza here, and today I'm bringing you a 4^th of July layout! This is not a day I grew up celebrating, but I certainly love all the festivities, excitement, and preparation for it. Every year our kids look forward to watching firework displays and lighting some themselves. Last year it was a special one, as I became a U.S. Citizen on this very day. Lots of emotions and certainly a very significant step in my life. I wanted my layout to be as patriotic as possible, with traditional colors and symbols.

I was able to pull reds and blues from different Maggie Holmes collections, as well as last year's holiday Falala collection and Here+There. Pleated fans and banners are what we often see at 4^th of July parties and parades, so I decided to cut several rosettes, in different sizes, and make them the focus of my page.

I have to say that this layout turned out VERY dimensional! I doubt it's going to go in an album, but I'm okay with that. It's a good excuse to frame it and have it out all the time ;)

I started by creating some texture on a 12x12 white cardstock with a stencil and modeling paste; I like that it is very sublte but still noticeable. I then layered the rosettes alternating colors and sizes. After finding a placement for the main rosette with our photo, I arranged the other ones as I thought they'd look best and went on decorating the page.

I die-cut stars in different sizes and layered them in the center of the rosettes. I also used sentiments and chipboard stickers, as well as the pretty rosette with the gold heart that came in the Flourish collection. To bring in more of the gold, I added some foiled stickers from the Maggie Holmes #StickerBook and the “Oh Happy Day” banner from the Carousel collection.

I finished the layout with black and white stars from the Carousel collection, and black splatters.

I really enjoyed making this layout and am very happy with the result. Such beautiful memories documented on this page!
