Happy Holidays with FaLaLa

Christmas markets are really great. I really enjoy the lights, the delicious food, the tempting smell of sweets and candies. And I also like to watch people enjoying their rides on merry-go-rounds. Today's layout that I created with the wonderful FaLaLa Christmas Collection features a black-and-white snapshot of a merry-go-round from a Christmas market in Berlin, Germany.

FaLaLa has a lot of cute embellishments you can use to make special Xmas projects. I can't decide which embellishments I like most. I guess I just love them all. However, the white paper snowflakes and the tassels are two of my faves from this collection. I used them in combination with different papers, stickers, one of the deer paper clips and some ephemera pieces on today's layout.

For the background I used the Snowflakes paper, which looks wonderful in combination with the green, red and white papers from FaLaLa. I cut strips of different papers and arranged them in a cluster in the center of the layout together with the black-and-white photo.

Then I added different embellishments to create an Xmasy scene. I also made a cluster on the upper left side of the layout and folded the corner on the upper right side - a nice little detail that makes the layout look more interesting.

Cardmaking with FaLaLa

Hi Crate Paper Fans! How is it going with Christmas cards? I am busy creating them. What else could I use then the wonderful Falala collection? Love the classic colors with a bit of pink touch. And those cute birds, snowmen and deer! Love them!

For both cards I used patterned papers from 6x6 Paper Pack. For one I add a deep green plaid paper as a base and over a lovely pink one with cute little birds. Before adding the embellishments sewed around with gold threads to give extra texture. To create a high dimension cluster by adding a snowflake Die Cut, then Snowflake Delights. Over I glued a bird from 6x12 Sticker Sheet. The falala glitter title came from the Falala Ephemera pack.

For the second card I used the same concept. For the background I chose the same green plaid paper and a colorful pine tree paper from 6x6 Paper Pack. I added the same cluster as before and a bird sticker from 6x12 Sheet. For this card I chose Noel Die Cut title . I love the same color shame. They are same but also different at the same time.

For both cards I adhered a small greetings from Phrase Sticker sheet. These are the best for Christmas cards. One pack contains red, white and gold labels which are enough for a tons of beautiful greeting cards.

How many cards do you usually create for Christmas? Not a lot until Christmas, so it's high time to pull out the Crate Paper Falala collection to dive into holiday card making. Switch on your favourite Christmas song, grab a hot cup of cocoa and have fun!

Adding Multiple Photos to Your Layout

Hello CP fans! Today I created a 12x12 layout with the wonderful Carousel collection by Maggie Holmes. A collection I do not get tired of. I love to use it in different forms and under different themes. I want to use it whenever I'm setting up my desk!

For this layout, I decided to integrate 3 little black and white photos with a white border. I think it's ideal when you scrape very bright colors. I have already used this geometric paper in the background and I must admit that I love it!

I chose a central and graphic layout and I fell for this pretty pocket card that I wanted to focus on the page. I inserted a photo and I stuck the 2 others next on different patterned papers. 

Then I stuck my title with the beautiful golden stickers "Love you" and I slipped some embellishments: sequin, chipboard, puffy stickers...

As a finishing touch, I had a great time creating a little banner with the little sticky note pads that I connected with the sewing machine. I like to create pages with multiple photos, I find that it changes and the completed project is always very nice.

Creating a Multiple-Photo Layout

Hello CP friends! I'm always so excited to be here to share with you another layout that I have created with the spankin' new collection called Good Vibes. Seriously love the super cute embellishments and the vibrant colours. This collection is very versatile for many fun themes (everyday, birthday, summer, cinco de mayo, etc). 

And today, I decided to use this fun collection on a photo shoot I did on my daughter's birthday when she turned 4 last January. After a few shots of her big self, I got my husband to join in. I love all these candid shots that I have taken of the both of them. I really love seeing them together. They are seriously peas in a pod! 

It was pretty fun to put all the elements together. My usual routine would be going through the products and see how I can mix + match. I love the fact that the both of them were wearing dark colored attires and that means I can go all crazy with colors and patterns on my layout. I chose this really cool patterned paper "Serious Fun" that did most of the work for me. Look at the splashes of colors and patterns on it. Instantly, I knew this paper is perfect as my background paper.  Next, I picked out all the embellishments to go along with the photos and overall look of the layout. 

Love how all the colors worked so well together! 

Personally, I like selecting photos of the same series whenever I work with multi-photo layout. It will look cohesive and easier to match with everything else on the layout. 

Absolutely love the different dimension on this layout. The textures play important role whenever I design my layout too. Those pom-poms on the frame is super cute!

Create a Thankful Album

Hello CP friends! As we are heading towards November and the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, it is perfect to take some time to count our blessings and be thankful for everything that is around us! When I was given the assignment for “I’m thankful for”, it really got me thinking of what I could possibly create for a gift idea. 

Over the years, I have been blessed with beautiful friendships and crossed paths with many amazing people in my life. I have this amazing church friend called Xue Qi whom I met last year in our church band. She is a very talented violinist and always gives her best in everything she does. Our friendship grew deeper as we got to know each other! Often times, she will swing by our house to play with the girls and always willing to offer us rides to church. Our girls adore her a lot! And with her in mind, I want to honor her by creating a mini album as my gratitude towards her! And today's mini album gift idea feature the Maggie Holmes Carousel collection.

Just before I begin, I will go through and pick photos for printing. Since this is a surprise for her, I went to Xue Qi’s Instagram feed and screenshot the photos I want to use in the album. Once that is done, I went through my stash to search for patterned papers and embellishments that I can use for layering. And I also decided to use white cardstock as my base. 

After adhering all the layers for papers and embellishments, I stitched the edges of each page for the extra texture I was going for. It looks really nice! 

For this album, I kept the embellishments minimal. I also kept each page with a similar look so that the pages are cohesive. 

In my mini albums, I always love including journaling on a piece of card some where in the middle of the album. Writing it down sure adds the personal touch to the album. 

I also used a lot of the sticky notes as part of paper embellishments. I love how tiny they are, just perfect for this mini album! 

Don't you just love those gold alphas? They are just the perfect size!

I'm Thankful For...

The Gather collection from Maggie Holmes is still one of my most favorite Crate Paper lines.  It’s perfect for everyday photos, but it’s also great for documenting fall/thanksgiving photos.  And Thanksgiving doesn’t have to mean photos that you take every year on Thanksgiving Day.  Thanksgiving or being thankful is something we can celebrate every day.  When I think of what I’m most thankful for, my family is always number one on the list!  I had the perfect photo from a recent trip to visit a botanical garden, that had the cutest pumpkin house…which was a great photo spot for the family!

I started by choosing a patterned paper for my background.  I love the subtle look of the hearts on the soft Pink paper.  It’s great for adding color and pattern to the background without overwhelming the photo and embellishments on the layout.

I wanted to bring in some other patterned papers from the collection, and cut files are the perfect way to do that.  I cut some leaf designs from White card stock and backed each one with a different patterned paper.  I also added some machine stitching to the cut files, to give the layout a bit of extra texture.  While I was at it with the leaf cut files, I decided to create a die cut title, also.  I did an outline for the word Grateful, and finished the look of the title with Black foam Thickers.

Before adding my photo, I played around with the placement of the leaf cut files and title.  Once I had those in place, I adhered the photo at the top left-hand side of the layout.  I clustered some embellishments and the “Love You” chipboard banner around the photo, to help it stand out more from the background and other elements on the page.

I always like to get the main elements on my layout and then go back and add in other embellishments here and there.  Once I had mostly everything in place on this layout, I went back through the Gather embellishments to pull out some finishing touches.  I used the large XOXO Ephemera piece at the bottom of the layout to balance out the look of the photo in the top corner.  And I added a few touches of Gold with some of the chipboard hearts and the cute paper bow.

Bright + Colorful Layout

Nothing says happy, like a fun new collection from Crate Paper!  The Good Vibes collection brings lots of bright colors and totally cute embellishments.  Some of my favorites are the cork pieces, frames and stickers.  I went through the collection and pulled out all of the things that caught my eye, and used them to create a layered grid design on my layout.

I used some of the larger ephemera pieces with one of the chipboard frames to create the shape of the grid.  I love the look of a free-form grid on my layouts.  Once I had the pieces in place for the grid, I placed my photo at the top left.  I printed it in black and white, because I wanted the contrast against the colors in the collection.  Then I used one of the frames around the photo and adhered it with pop dots for dimension.

Next, I embellished the two frames and tag that made up the rest of the grid.  I used the High Five Puffy Thickers for my title and layered it over the kraft tag.  How cute is it, with the tiny holes punched in it??!!  I need about 10 more of those!!  In the two frames, I added a sticker and ephemera piece, keeping the embellishing on those more on the simple side. 

I finished the layout with some more embellishing around the photo.  I love all of the different texture from the chipboard, ephemera, cork and puffy stickers.  And the balance of the layout worked out great with more embellishing added to the upper left and lower right of the page, while the upper right and lower left has minimal embellishing.

Good Vibes Layout

Hello CP fans!! I'm so happy to meet you today with a new layout and gorgeous new Crate Paper! I'm too much fan of the new Good Vibes collection with these pretty colors mixed with cork and golden glitter and patterns too cute and trendy! I'm crazy about every release of a new Crate Paper collection!

To start my page, I chose a black and white background paper and I stuck a large square white cardstock in the middle so that the pattern paper made a frame. Then I chose a fairly neutral and clear paper to cover half of the white background.

Once this page background is ready I started my layout. I stuck a beautiful golden frame on my photo and on the left I stuck a lovely card of ephemera pack. Below I stamped on a label. I love this stamp that perfectly imitates the typewriter!

On the right I added stickers: the pretty lama, a cactus, a little house and stars of different contents. For my title I used a word from the board of thicker words. I love this kind of board, too practical to highlight a title.

Then down on the left, I superimposed masking tape strips by adding a small sticker and on the top I used a second stamp. I love these stamps, they adhere perfectly on smooth papers. In this photo my daughter was celebrating her 6 years so in a wink I added the number 6 with the golden alphabet board.

I have practically inserted all the range of embellishments on this page, I'm crazy!

Send Good Vibes with Cards

Good vibes can come from a multitude of sources in your daily life. A friendly smile or some nice words spoken by a lovely person, a bunch of beautiful flowers, your favorite song that is played on the radio, your child or any other beloved person coming up to you, giving you a hug and saying 'I love you'. For a papercrafter like me, good vibes come from cute embellishments and awesome papers too. The new Good Vibes Collection from Crate Paper just lives up to its name. There are cute llamas, colorful pompom frames, awesome little charms and stickers, chipboard stickers and wonderful papers too. I would like to share three fresh cards that I created with this collection.

The first cards features two llamas from the Good Vibes Collection. I went for a square card design and added one of the pompom frames as well as a paper strip on the right side. And I wrapped some bakers twine around the frame. The twine holds one of the charms right next to the llamas. I also added one of the charms to the necklace of the larger llama. I think it's a fun detail on the first card. 

The second card has a lot of layers. I combined patterned papers, ephemera pieces and some lovely floral stickers and chipboard stickers. The title 'Love out Loud' is stamped with black ink and a stamp from the Good Vibes Acrylic Stamp Set. As finishing touches I added some sequins and also three ribbons from the Carousel Collection from Maggie Holmes.

'Make every day count' is the title of the third card. The colorful bird chipboard sticker at the top is the star of this card. Underneath the bird I layered patterned papers, a pompom frame, some stickers and one of the lovely charms. I also added two paper triangles at the top and the bottom to frame the card.

Good Vibes Gift Tags

Hi Ladies! It’s Flóra here sharing my gift tags I made with the new Good Vibes collection. When I saw the gorgeous paper and the cheerful embellishments, I instantly know I will make a ton of fun projects with it. Love all the pink, lovely birds and llamas. Let’s check today’s project closer.

I used tags from the Good Vibes Ephemera pack and get few from So Chill Paper. I just need to cut them out and punch a hole on the top with We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile. If I already grabbed my favorite tool I decided to add pink and aqua eyelets to all the tags. For one of the tag I added a cute house from 6x12 Sticker sheet. On the bottom I glued a Carousel pom-pom ribbon.

The second has a big cacti from Ephemera pack and over a chipboard bird. I even added a cork star what was also included into the Die-Cut pack. How fun, isn’t it? In the right bottom corner I stamped tiny sentiments using Good Vibes Clear Stamp Set and black ink.

The last gift tag features a cute llama sticker and a hexagon Charm. The charms are one of the coolest embellishments from Good Vibes collection, perfect to complete my tag.
