Hello! It's Gina here with two cards made for School Prep week using the pretty Carousel collection. I love that this collection can be used for many types of projects. The papers and embellishments throughout the collection are very versatile and fit well for many occasions.
I liked the idea of creating cards for teachers that could be used as everyday cards as well. For my first card "Happy" I used the Carried away paper as my background. This paper is so fun, I love the white hearts against a black background. It kind of reminds me of a blackboard hence the teacher theme. I kept the sentiment simple - I used an ephemera piece from the collection and layered it along with other ephemera and chipboard pieces. I also added a strip of white cardstock trimmed with fringe scissors to give the card a good flow and some simple machine stitching.
For my second card I used the Gallop paper as my background and then layered on the perforated gold foil ticket paper. This ticket paper has quickly become a favorite of mine and I reach for them to use on most of my projects - so many uses and they are so lovely! Next, I chose my sentiment "sparkle every day" from an ephemera piece from the collection. I love the idea of telling a teacher to sparkle, we could all use more of that! I used foam adhesive squares behind my sentiment and added a chipboard flower behind it. I also added a few sparkly stars, a fabric bow and some simple machine stitching.
I hope that you like my teacher cards today. I think these would make any teacher smile. Thanks for stopping by today!
