Hello and happy Monday! Who's excited for the week? I am! It's Gina here and I have a fun little DIY project to share for Home décor week! I love crafting handmade items that can be used in every day home décor.
To start, I painted the outside walls of my hexagon shadow boxes using gold paint. Next, I created a template for the inside of of my boxes by folding a piece of copy paper. After I used a pencil to trace the inside of the box I used the template to cut out my pattern paper.
I love that this project involves pretty paper and paint! Once my shadowbox was dry from the paint I adhered pattern paper to the inside using papers from Maggie Holmes new Carousel collection.
Now comes the fun part, decorating!!! I had a hard time choosing what embellishments I wanted to use. All of the embellishments in the new collection are so cute. I decided to start with adding banners from the chipboard sheet and sticker sheet to the top of my frames.
Next, I chose chipboard pieces, stickers and ephemera pieces to use in each box. I also added 3d foam adhesive dots to pop up each piece and the cutest little fabric bow from the collection.
Thank you for taking the time to view my project today, I hope that it has inspired you to create your own home décor pieces.
