Hi there! It's Gina back with a layout for Father's day! I decided for my Father's day layout that I would use the Cool Kid collection from Crate Paper. I know the collection is supposed to be "kid" themed, so you might think that it only works for kids projects. However, I thought that this collection had so many patterns and colors in it that would work great for Dad's too.
As I contemplated the design for my layout I found this amazing star from the Everyday Essentials cut file from The Cut Shoppe. The cut file included the star design as well as other designs. I opened the cut file in Silhouette and decided to copy the star three times onto a new workpage. I also enlarged the star.
I chose to cut my star out of white cardstock paper and then I backed each star with various pieces of patterned papers from the Cool Kid collection. If you look closely you will notice that I managed to sneak some papers in there from the Gather collection too!
After each star was complete I adhered them to my page. I chose kraft cardstock as my background, I love how it makes them stand out. The wood veneer shapes in the Cool Kid collection are so fun to use I used three of them on this layout. I added other embellishments and stickers from the Cool Kid collection and then decided on an XO wood button and thickers from the Heart Day collection. I love that they seem to fit right in and that you can't tell that they are supposed to be "valentine's day" themed.
