Fussy cutting is a fun and easy technique, and you can use a little or a lot on your projects. It’s also great for creating extra embellishment pieces for your layouts. I wanted to do some minimal fussy cutting with the Oasis collection to document a summer photo.
I love the multi-colored circles from the Coastal patterned paper, but I only wanted to use a few of them on my layout. I cut some of the different colored circles and scattered them over the Postcard patterned paper, to create my own design. I really like the flow that they create in the background on the layout.
The Charm Thickers were perfect for a large title in the center of the layout. I used the title to fill in the space between the fussy cut circles. I used some of the tropical leaf embellishments from the collection to create clusters. I didn’t want to use the gold side of the leaves from the Ephemera Pack, so I decided to flip them over to the white side. I wanted to bring in some more of the leaves, so I fussy cut a couple of those too, to add to the layout.
I wanted the finished layout to have a clean, summery look, so I only added a few more embellishments. The tiny puffy stickers are too cute, and I used a couple of them in the center of the fussy cut circles. I also love to use word phrases on my layouts, so I chose some of the word phrase stickers from the Sticker sheet to add more interest to the circles.
The Crate Paper collections have some great patterned papers that are perfect for fussy cutting! Check out the Oasis collection or your other CP collections for patterns that you can cut and use on your next upcoming project!
