Hello and welcome. It’s fussy cutting week on the Crate Paper blog and I decided to renew our wall decoration by adding two handmade items - a giant paper flower and a nice decorative shadow frame.
When I searched the Internet to find out more about fussy cutting‘, I came across different patterns, ornaments and designs. I decided to go for triangles and used an overall design similar to the single photo layout that I shared here on the CP blog earlier in May with triangles in a large circle.
I used a plate and a pencil to outline the circle on white cardstock and then used a pair of scissors to cut the circle. On a separate piece of white cardstock, I assembled the triangles that I had cut from different patterned papers and glued them to the white cardstock.
Then I attached the cardstock with the large cut-out circle on top of the cardstock with the triangles and sewed everything together nicely with me sewing machine. Finally, I fussy-cut the flowers from the patterned paper ‘My Darling’ (Chasing Dreams) and glued them to the paper triangles.
The next piece of decoration I would like to share with you is a giant paper flower. I’ve been meaning to make a giant paper flower for ages and now I finally took the time to make one. I cut five petals, twelve leaves and made a fringed center piece, which I all glued to a piece of grey board with a glue gun. I used poster stripes to attach the flower to the wall.
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day.
