I don't always get my creative mojo immediately. At times, I have to sit on my scrapping desk and just play around. Arranging the embellishments or matching papers will somehow spark some kind of creativity. Placing certain products that I would like to work with will definitely help as well.
As I was going through the Chasing Dreams collection, this triangle-patterned paper captured my attention. I knew it would be perfect as background for my layout against some bright colors. And that was my starting point. Let me share with you my creative process...
First, use a plastic card and dip into the gesso. Spread it all around the patterned paper. I wanted to give a little subtle look to the background.
Once the gesso is dried, adhere a few doilies. That gave a softer look to the bold background.
Next, I arranged the fussy-cut butterflies onto my layout randomly. As I went along, I rearranged the sizes to make the whole layout balanced. Once that is done, I added other elements like stickers to enhance my layout.
I wanted to create more texture to my layout and decided to stitch the middle section of the butterflies.
To add more dimension to the butterflies, I added foam dots to the back of the wings. Absolutely love the 3d look on the butterflies.
Here is my completed layout...
I decided to leave the thread on my layout. That surely gave a lot more texture to the overall layout!
Just splatter some gold mists onto your layout for the glittery effect. After all, gold color goes very well with all the bright and bold colors on the layout!
Once again, thank you for letting me share with you today! Hope you enjoyed today's simple step-by-step! Happy Scrapping :)
