Hi everyone! It's Gina here to share with you my first layout using the brand new Cool Kid collection by Crate Paper. I'm excited about this collection! There are so many elements that work well for both younger boys and teenage boys.
When it comes to scrapbooking teen photos, my son Matthew is always a challenge. At 13, he is always on the go, and rarely stops long enough for me to capture a new photo. But, I always insist on taking photos of him from time to time because he is growing like a weed and is already taller than me!
I started this layout by cutting my background out of 12x12 white cardstock paper, and then backing several of the pieces with patterned papers from the Cool Kid collection.
When working with multiple patterns, I always like to have some solid cardstock options (such as the kraft and white cardstock) to help balance out the multiple patterns. I trimmed three small black and white photos of my son and integrated them into the background.
Next, I sprinkled some black spray mist across my page and added several embellishments from the collection. I love the pennants in this collection. I used the “fun day” pennant as a title on my layout and combined it with chipboard and puffy phrase stickers. I also added a few stitches using my sewing machine to complete the layout.
I hope you enjoy working with this fun new collection as much as I have!
