Hi everyone, this is Laetitia and I am delighted to be with you all today! This week on the Crate Paper blog, we are honoring fathers. Below I'll be sharing an idea for a small Father's Day gift, either made by you or gather your children to help!
This year I wanted to make a small, creative gift for fathers. I chose to create a small piece of home decor for his office using a picture of his only daughter. I know he'll love the idea! I hesitated between a hanging frame or one for the desk, but luckily I came across this little wooden clipboard in a store. I immediately loved it and I thought it would be very easy to customize!
Before we begin, I chose a rather masculine combo: yellow and gray. The colors complement the black background of the wooden clipboard. I then selected papers and assorted embellishments that I wanted to use.
For the background, I used two papers from the Bloom Collection by Maggie Holmes. I used the papers resembling wood and plaid. I also cut two flags using black, white and yellow paper to bring out the garland that I would use.
On top of the clipboard, I attached two chipboard pieces from the Shine Collection, also by Maggie Holmes. Then, I decided on a photo. After choosing, I secured six pennants to create a banner. I added my photo and other chipboard pieces from the Shine and Confetti collections and a small golden sticker phrase.
On the left, I found this little windmill would fit perfectly with everything. Because I'm used to scrapping feminine colors, this project was a small challenge!
I hope you all liked this little clipboard and that it will give you ideas for your Father's Day gifts. See you next week!
