Introducing Karen + Marcy

    I live in Australia, about 2 hours north of Sydney in the Hunter Valley, NSW. I’ve lived here all my life and I love it, it truly has everything, beaches 20 minutes away and wine country 40 minutes away – perfect. I have a wonderful husband and three beautiful children and one furry dog called Jack. I am about to graduate from University with a teaching degree and I’m very excited to put into practice what I’ve learnt over the past four years. I love reading, walking, spending time with my family and creating of course.

    I love the quote ‘The creative adult is the child who survived’ that’s me! I love experimenting with patterns and textures of paper, I love transforming it and adding to it. I feel at ease when I create, I forget all the busyness of life and I concentrate on just putting a layout together. I also can’t sit still. I don’t think I’ve gone a day without making something. To me creating is my ‘mindfulness’. A chance to breathe and relax.

    Oh gee hard question, because without sound cliché all of them. One that stands out though is the first one I ever saw, Pretty Party. I loved it because it reminded me of my own parties as a little girl, sweet childhood memories of pretty dresses, party shoes, lots of pink and party games. I still have a 6x6 paper pad of this collection, & I don’t think I will ever use it.

 

On paper I'm a home schooling graphic designer, mom of three from The Canadian prairies.  But deep down I'm a farmhouse loving, wannabe chicken lady just capturing everyday moments with my camera.

 

I create because I feel that memory keeping, in any form, is important.  The everyday moments are the things I want to remember.

 

My favorite Crate Paper collection is maybe Notes and Things. Or maybe Confetti or Story teller.... There's just so many to choose from!
