Hi everyone! I am so excited to be on the Blog with you today, sharing my first Design Team layout! This week, we are sharing projects featuring the gorgeous Bloom collection. Everything in this collection can be described as dreamy…I love it all! And the hardest part of this layout, was actually deciding what product I wanted to use first.
I wanted to incorporate my favorite go to patterns, colors and techniques. I chose the Lizzy patterned paper as the background for my layout. I love the wood grain pattern and that you can use the full sheet as your background paper, without overpowering the photo and layout design.
Supplies: 680420 – Lizzy, 680406 – Garden Party, 680413 – Blossom, 680434 – Ephemera Pack, 680428 – 6x6 Paper Pad, 680432 – Happy Thickers, 680435 – Accent Stickers, 680436 – Rubber Stickers, 680440 – Washi Stickers, Little You: 680397 – Embellishments
My initial design idea for this layout was to create a soft look, and what better way to do that, than with circles! I cut several circles in various sizes on my die cut machine from White card stock. Then I machine stitched around each of the circles. The circles became frames for the photo on my layout and all of the embellishments and title. I love to alternate the embellishments on my layouts to create a balance of color and texture.
I grabbed the Ephemera Pack the minute I was ready to embellish. It is so full of variety! I love the multi sized flowers included in the Ephemera Pack and they were a perfect fit for a few of the circle frames. I also worked in a bit of the Washi Stickers, by adding strips behind the hearts on the die cut circles that were cut from the 6x6 paper pad.
Once all of the circles were filled in, I decided I needed a bit of fussy cutting to bring in more pattern and color. I cut several of the plus symbols from the Blossom paper and the fun scalloped circles from the Garden Party paper. I placed the plus symbols in some of the open spaces, and added the scalloped circles to the outside edges of the circle frames.
I can’t wait to create more with this gorgeous collection, and I hope you’ve found a bit of inspiration for using the Bloom collection on your next layout or project!
Wow Ashley! This is gorgeous! I love how this layout only has 1 picture on it, and then you embellished it so beautifully around it! Absolutely stunning!
