Hi everyone! I'm so happy to be back for another year with Crate Paper! So, let's jump right into my first project for you all.
My memory keeping plans have changed a little bit this year. I'm determined to keep things simple but fun at the same time! That's totally doable, right?
To do this I started by assigning a booklet for my “layouts”. Typically I scrapbook 8.5x11 so I made my notebook that size and then just folded it in half to create my booklet. This will leave me with the same amount of real estate to play with that i'm used to, but in the booklet form that I currently love.
I started this page by choosing two papers that I felt played off each other well. This included one with a large scale print and one with a smaller print. Initially my plan was to just create a diagonal pattern with my papers, but it dawned on me that this design would make a great pocket as well.
To do this I kept the pink “xo” the full size of the page and trimmed the small dotted paper into a triangle. I adhered the edges and then ran it through my sewing machine for added strength.
On the right hand side I added my photo and a small die-cut embellishment at the top. This page was originally supposed to hold my journaling as well but I really like how the lightness of that page balanced the color on the other page so I decided to find a different place for my journaling.
Instead of including love notes in the pocket on the left I decided to add my journaling here. I gathered a large and small tag and journaled on the large one. I added a glittered heart sticker to the small one to add some interest.
I tucked the two tags into the pocket with room to spare. Still room to add love notes if I decide to later down the road.
I love the idea of adding a pocket directly onto a notebook page. I can't wait to use this idea again when I have a trip to document. It'd be the perfect spot to hold brochures and memorabilia.
I hope this idea has sparked something for you!
Gorgeous!
