Hello and welcome to the blog today! I am going to share a project I have been working on for the last few days - a Halloween table for my dining room. I used the After Dark collection for this and it was perfect! Let's take a look.
I knew I wanted to make some prints to hang on the wall, so I grabbed the Minc After Dark 8x10 prints and a few rolls of foil. Here I am using purple and orange.
I decided to go with purple foil on the white print, and orange foil on the black. The foil will stick to any part of the paper that's laser printed (with toner), so on the Trick or Treat paper - just the wording will be foiled purple.
Using the Minc is so easy. You simply place your foil on top of the design, then stick it inside the plastic sleeve. Run it through the machine and you're done!
Here's a look at the Halloween print - hopefully you can get a sense of how pretty the orange foil is!
I had picked up this black tabletop tree at the craft store and knew it needed a little extra something. I used the patterned papers from After Dark to make a garland. Making one of these is really simple. Just take a few punches and punch shapes out of the patterned paper. You then run them through your sewing machine one after the other to make a garland. Super easy!
I also got a chance to use the black cat string of lights from the After Dark collection. My kids helped me punch the lights through the black cats, then I simply used a few gold thumbtacks to attach the strand to my wall.
I also created a few more embellishments and touches for the table. I collect vintage typewriters and wanted to incorporate one into the table, so I simply put a piece of patterned paper through the roller. Doing this is so fun since you can see both sides of the paper. I also picked up a few fun pumpkins from the craft store to add as well.
I had this orange frame in my scraproom that I wasn't using for anything, so I simply added a piece of patterned paper to it along with some chipboard embellishments from the collection. Super simple and fast!
I also added a vase with some orange ball ornaments as well as a pumpkin trick-or-treat bucket. My kids keep asking me where the candy is :)
And here's the final product! I really like how it turned out. Thanks for stopping by the blog today, and I hope you're getting ready for Halloween!
