We're still very much at the start of school over here. To make the transition a little more fun I've decided to make our space a little more exciting. I acquired a few metal sign holders over the years and thought it would be fun to decorate one for our book pile. I started by pulling out a large alphabet and a (mostly) white piece of patterned paper from the Wonder collection.
I flipped the patterned paper over and traced the opening of the sign on it.
I trimmed that out and set it aside. I grabbed a ruler and laid out a potential title with the chipboard letter stickers. I really wanted to use the word "learn" as the focus of the sign, but it ended up being a little bit squashed.
Clearly, "read" fit a lot better.
I adhered my title to my piece of patterned paper and slid in in my sign. I could have decorated a whole lot more... adding ribbon and tassels... but I think my boys appreciate it being nice and simple.
