I love taking my Crate Paper supplies outside of scrapbooking and into other areas of my life, so I was super excited about altering an object with the Wonder collection. Coming off the heels of Back to School week, I immediately thought of creating some DIY planner accessories.

First, I created a set of notebooks to slip into the back pocket of my planner. I usually have 1 or 2 Field Notes on hand to jot down ideas or quick notes and I wanted to make similar style notebooks. After cutting down some pretty paper to approximately the same size, I folded my sheets in half and stapled along the fold to create little booklets.

Then, I adhered felt hearts from the die cuts in the Wonder collection to the front cover of each notebook. I love their bright colors and the added texture they bring to the patterned papers.

Next, I made a folder for my planner. After a few quick alterations to an average file folder, it was done. First, I cut the file folder down to size, taking into account what I would need to create pockets. Then, after folding and adhering the pockets, I clamped them in place with binder clips. I wanted to make sure I let the glue dry before punching holes for binder rings.

Once the holes for the binder rings were punched, I used a pair of scissors to cut slits through them, as shown in the photo above.

Here is my finished folder. I decorated the front using a this pretty die cut from the Wonder collection.

Then I tucked more die cuts into the front pockets of the planner for easy access.

The slits I cut through the holes allow me to open and close my folder without opening up the binder rings.

And inside my folder, I tucked some additional pieces from the Wonder collection that I would love to incorporate in my planner!
Creating these planner accessories was so much fun and I'm really looking forward to seeing these pretty papers in my normal day to day routine.
