My room is still under construction. Most of it is cosmetic...an awful work surface, no window trim, unfinished ceiling...that kinda thing. But I am super excited to share some little bits of my brand new workspace with you today!
Some backstory. There are many many pictures of my old workspace floating around on the interwebs. It was a lovely little room. But we built a house and it allowed me some more space and a new layout. My new workspace is 900 square feet located above the garage. It's pretty much a studio/office/homeschool room hybrid.
In the center of the room I have four work tables that my hubby made for me. Each has two drawers and either two shelves or one shelf and rolling storage for patterned papers. Pretty much all my scrapbook supplies fit in here. There's a drawer for scrap paper, two for Antonius trays holding loose embellishments, one for tools like scissors and pens and then some for kits I'm currently working with. All my Crate products are currently in file folders with the rest of my patterned paper in rolling bins... but I'm not 100% happy with that so they may move around too.
The rest of the shelves hold baskets. Like I said, all my most used supplies live here. Here's a look at a few of them. One of my FAVORITE crate products is the chipboard frames. So I devoted an entire basket to those.
I like that I can just slide out the baskets and put them on my work surface. My work table is 18 feet long, so there's more than enough space for that. My washi storage has changed over the years...but I always come back to just keeping it in a wire basket. I like to dig.
Inside some of the baskets I have smaller baskets. When I was organizing my space I wanted to only put my favorite supplies here. (I'll share where I'm storing other supplies in a minute). Tags and labels were a no brainer. I keep all my precut labels in a small loaf tin.
I've been looking for just the right wooden box for my journaling cards for a while now. I finally remembered one that was in the garage (we'll be unpacking forever!) and made a few dividers for it. It houses three rows of cards perfectly. My 4x6 cards live in another wooden box.
Behind the worktable is a row of Expedits. I filled them with white boxes because I wanted to keep this whole space really clean! In here I keep things I don't need access to a lot. Things like holiday supplies, flowers, embossing powders, letterpress supplies, and so on. The boxed are labeled and organized alphabetically. On the far right, near my desk, I store office things in the boxes (printer ink, batteries, etc.) and my notebook supplies and booklets.
I try to keep the top fairly clean. Usually there's only a typewriter, my current Project LifeĀ® album and a candy jar for wood veneer and brads.
There's also usually a tray holding a current project. Right now it's filled with things for my summer mini book.
Above the expedits, in between the two windows, is room for an inspiration board. That is another one of those "to-do list things" so for now I just have a couple of things taped up on the wall.
At the end of the row of Expedits I have an Alex cart. This mostly holds planner supplies like labels, pens, sticky notes and printer paper.
On the adjacent wall is my desk. We actually have five desks in here because we use it for a school room as well. Three are along this wall and two are along the other.
Clean and uncluttered most days.
The other side of the room is just being worked on now. It includes a couch, round table and chairs and three bookcases. Behind the bookcase drawers I have my Cutterbug, planners, school supplies, and other craft supplies. Most of the stuff that still needs to be moved out of here tends to gravity to that side of the room but we're getting there.
I can't wait till this room gets a little further along and I can show it to you guys! But for now I hope you enjoyed the peeks.
So, so pretty, Marcy!! So many great storage solutions!!

This already looks like the craft room of my wildest dreams! Ikea has been my go-to for storage as well. I'll definitely check back to see the finished space- thanks for sharing!
