I am so excited to be here today talking about one of my favorite things to do; sewing on projects! For me it is a must! I just don't feel like a layout is complete without it. I also have a slight obsession with quilts and since I don’t know how to make one myself, sewing with paper kind of fills the sewing need for me. Sewing machines these days are so fool-proof, the basics are super easy. My inspiration for this page came from the frames and tags from the beautiful Notes & Things. I wanted to create sort of a mood board, like the ones you see all over Pinterest these days. The stitching was a great way to line all of the elements up and create a cohesive feel.

I varied the stitch styles I used. I think it adds an interesting element to the layout. Like I mentioned before, even basic machines have different stitching these days. My sewing machine even does letters & numbers–how fun would that be on a card, or tag?!

I love to stitch around titles or words because it draws the eye in. Sometimes, when you have a fairly busy page, it's a great way to showcase a certain element.

I really went to town on the kraft tag! While super cute on its own, I think the white thread really shines! I typically use white thread, but when I do change the color, I keep the bobbin thread as white. It really saves time and since the white only shows on the back of the layout, it doesn’t really matter.
