I know that Valentine's Day is the perfect moment for saying "I Love You" and giving a gift to someone special without any sense of shyness. Honestly, for a long time, I've not been pro-active in expressing my heart and feelings to those nearest and dearest to me. So, I decided it was time to make up for my lack of words, and hand out a batch of sweet treats and mini cards to my closest friends this year.
And here is the most sweetest cone in the world - full of tiny chocolates minus the flowers. Though the flower cone below lended inspiration galore - a prior project used as a resource for creating this uniquely displayed Valentine treat.
I created these rose-filled cones as part of a wedding celebration. I turned the same idea into another momento of "love", though this time, the topic at hand is Valentine's and my very favorite, chocolate.
And as you can see, the cone shape isn't just great for silk flowers, but sweet candy as well. I'm also a BIG fan of pretty papers - this simple cone shape opens the door showcasing pattern at it's best.
Here is the collection of cone treats and mini cards using the oh so lovely "Love Notes" collection and the cutest gold Kisses {with almond!}. Yummy.
To bring it all together, I added lace-up detail and cute decor picks!
Typically, I usually prefer my mini cards to be 3" inches or less. I think it's enough to express my thoughts without feeling limited on space.
My favorite patterned paper from the Love Notes collection is the "petite red heart" vellum. It's beautiful and with the addition of stitching and sequins, nothing else compares. I really like how it turned out, too - ample texture and unexpected sparkle!
On this card, silver glitter and white gel ink are the utmost ideal final touch! Glitter rarely disappoints, and the playful nature of pen ink and random lines is a nice contrast to all things linear.
I hope you like this first project from me as a new CP Gal - and maybe you'll consider crafting a sweet cone or two for your own loved ones. Happy Valentine's Day!
I'd absolutely love a tutorial on how to make cones like these -- or maybe a link to instructions if they exist already? They're beautiful!
