Crate is going the direction of PINK this week - an unconventional holiday hue with as much merriment as it's counterpart, red and green. We challenged our CP Gals to put the color to use in conjunction with their own holiday ideas. Here is the very first installment from CP Gal, Anabelle O'Malley...

There's something about Pink at Christmas time! I love using this color to create holiday projects. Crate's Bundled Up line has so many sweet, vintage elements. When I decided to create my pink tag set, I knew that I'd find just what I was looking for in the papers, chipboard and die cuts from this line. I also found some perfect pink elements in the Flea Market line. Paired with platinum glitter, doilies and lots of stitching, I created a set of shabby pink tags that will be perfect for holiday giving. I'm envisioning them on kraft packages wrapped in twine.
I started off by taking some ordinary shipping tags and dry brushing them with cream colored paint to give them a bit of a shabby feel. Then, I cut stars from cardboard, painted them with Mod Podge and sprinkled on the glitter. Next, I was ready to gather my materials. I selected a couple of pretty pink papers and also, used the 'Newsprint' paper from Bundled Up. These were used on all of the tags.
I adhered the papers to the tags and added stitching at the seams. Next came doilies. I cut them in half and adhered them to either side of the tags. Brads from Bundled Up were placed in the tag's top hole as a pretty detail.
Finally, it was time to embellish them. This was my favorite part. I chose elements with pink in them and added my glitter stars, stickers and chipboard.
The little bits of red and aqua in the tags are just the right touch. They truly give them a 'Christmas-y' feel. The best part about these is that you might even be able to use some of them throughout the rest of the Winter.
I hope to have inspired you to pull together some of your favorite pink elements from Bundled Up and Flea Market. Have fun creating your own shabby tags!
