When I think "Christmas Colors", the traditional red and green pop immediately into mind. Pink is usually a color reserved for Easter or Valentine's Day. But Crate Paper's Bundled Up collection, with it's adorable vintage style, has caused me to re-think tradition and add pink to my holiday decor. And, of course, since I have two little girls, a winter/Christmas themed collection with pink is the perfect marriage on my scrap table! When I began my layout, I decided to use the gorgeous B side of the "Winter" patterned paper, which really couldn't be more pink. One of my favorite color combinations is pink and white, so I chose to create an oversized title with my Silhouette Cameo--song lyrics cut from white cardstock.
To create my title, I used the text tool to add each line of text separately. I highlighted each line to change the size to my liking. I wanted the word "Christmases" to really stand out, so I ensured that it was the largest word in my title. I arranged each line of text so that it slightly overlapped the lines above and below, highlighted the entire image, then grouped and welded it together.
In order to fill my page with background text while still allowing the title to be read, I copied my title and pasted another copy just below the first, again, ensuring that the two titles were overlapping slightly. Finally, I highlighted the image, grouped and welded it to create one big cut file.
Machine sewing is, for me, the easiest way to adhere a large, intricate cut. Plus, the stitching is a fun extra detail! After I positioned and sewed down the title, I added my photo. I then embellished around it in clusters to bring attention to the area while still allowing the title to be front and center.
To add to the Christmas in Pink theme, I chose embellishments with pops of pink -- the stocking, stitched banner, wooden brads and chipboard elements surround my frame and uniquely highlight my photo. I love the way it turned out!
Wish you and yours a very Happy Holiday Season!
Love the title going down the page, and I love the PINK. :)
