Fall Photography & Family Banner w/Naomi Atkins

Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the smells, the colors, the textures..the warm sweaters, the leaves, the candles, the cooler days and of course, the baking. Oh, and also, the decorating!! I usually host Thanksgiving, so I like to have pretty Fall decorations. As a photographer, I really enjoy photographing Fall memories....

One of my favorite things to photograph is my children in the leaves. I love watching them play in leaves, throwing them in the air, jumping in the piles. I love anything school-related, chalkboard themed. I love the colors in the woods behind my home, and we are surrounded by a 150 acre farm and I love the colors of the fields.

Every year, I like to make a banner to go below my mantle..so this year, I decided to combine my favorite Fall photos, some leaves and one of my favorite craft items, gold glitter :)

I took some dollar store leaves, covered them in modge podge, and then sprinkled glitter, mica chips and embossing powders onto the leaves to create different effects. It was so much fun!

I used some thrift store lace for the banner itself, added the glittered leaves with some Crate clothespins and then added some Fall photos embellished with items from Close Knit and Flea Market.

This project was so much fun and really only took minutes once the leaves dried. I enjoyed playing with the textures of the different powders and glitters. I hope this inspires you to create something fun with your Fall pictures and craft items!
