Hello Everyone! Happy Monday - It's Naomi bringing you another round of Crate 365! Today's topic - journaling. More of it. Here's the scoop...
When looking through my albums, particularly my 365 project, I have noticed how lacking I am with journaling...and to improve my journaling and capture everyday moments is the reason that I started this project. I have no problem with pretty pictures and paper...but that journaling gets me every time.
I decided this week to go back to basics a bit and look through my stash of 3 x 4 cards. I have a lot of them. It's ridiculous. And I know a lot of you have the same problem, right?! :)
The one thing I liked when starting this project was the simplicity of adding the little journaling cards in with each photo. Well, since then, I have accumulated more journaling cards then I know what to do with. I had to come up with a storage solution to keep them intact and organized. Thankfully, I discovered a wooden antique box with perfect sized slots for holding 3 x 4 cards. And guess what? It's already almost full, but it works! I love it!
The reason I have so many cards is because I do an album every year (I've been at it the last three years) and fill it with photos while leaving out...guess what? Correct, the journaling cards.
This week, I went through my 3 x 4 journaling card collection and picked out some that matched my pretty Crate Paper stash. I was able to locate ones that either matched the paper or were plain enough to decorate. I told myself that I was going to write on at least three cards. I left two spots out to fill with "pretty things" (the new Maggie Holmes Flea Market patterned papers) and some stickers.
I added the title with some Thickers. The journaling cards are kit cards that I either journaled on or embellished. I added some stickers to them as well :)
On the right hand page, I put two papers together with a sticker on top and then the other pockets are filled with journaling cards.
I was very proud of myself this week for using up some of my card stash and mixing in some of my new favorite Crate Paper bits and pieces. It kind of worked out to be the best of both worlds. I have decided that I really want to journal on three cards each week. Once I sat down to do it, I surprised myself because it really wasn't that hard. And when I go back and look through my pretty albums, I'm going to like that I included some of my thoughts and feelings alongside my pretty papers and pictures.
On that note, I hope you all soak up and enjoy every last bit of summer while it lasts..and record those memories while you're at it!
Looks AWESOME!! LOVING the photos!!

I love seeing CP in action on a Project Life format! I am about to start my second album and was just thinking of how I'd like it to differ from my first, and this has provided me with great inspiration. Thank you!
