Dot Crush...what a fun time I had with this assignment! I decided to play with dots several ways in this layout..and that was not a problem because I just love them! I was very pleased with the tag holding the chipboard title "Summer Days". I had a polka-dot mask and wanted to make different colored polka-dots, but have them pop up a bit. I decided to dab a little Versa Mark Ink on every dot, and sprinkled all different colors of embossing powder (American Crafts ZING is the best!!) on them. I then dusted them off, heated the remaining powder 'til it shined and I had this cool polka-dot dotted tag. I used a plain kraft tag from a craft supply store. I also found the polka-dotted burlap ribbon at a craft supply store and gathered and stitched it to the bottom of the layout. I layered some chipboard over the tag, and adhered a strip of yellow and white polka-dotted paper from "The Pier". The collection fit perfectly, as the photo was taken on the boardwalk at the beach, in front of the rides. For the top, I decided to punch a bunch of different patterned papers in two strands and stitch them to create a dotted banner! :) I hand-cut some of the umbrella tops from The Pier's "Heatwave" patterned paper, and all of the other papers come from The Pier as well, except the old book paper I added. One more "dot" element; for one of the banner pieces, I cut a circle out of patterned paper and clear plastic, and put a bunch of brightly colored confetti in between and stitched around the circle to hold it in place. I added a few chipboard elements to the top left and was done! Hopefully, this gives you some ideas of how to play with polka-dots! Happy Crafting!

Dots, circles, polkas, they all have something in common which is being loved by me :) I can't get enough of them in my daily life, as well as on my layouts. Add hand-stitching to that, and I'm in heaven!
In this layout, I combined brads from multiple Crate Paper collections with the adorable "Popcorn" patterned paper from The Pier. Notice the polka-dots on that particular paper? Double bonus! Circles on circles is my absolute favorite. I stitched circles to 'house' the brads I planned on putting onto the layout. If you ask me what is my favorite embellishment, while I may have a hard time answering you and will have more than one answer, brads will most definitely be on the list!

I love polka-dots! They're fun and festive, making them the perfect pattern choice for coin envelopes. I picked out some different polka-dotted patterned papers from CP and made five envelopes from a template. I really wanted to make them pretty on the outside, so I went back through all of my Crate supplies -- as far back as Random and as recent as The Pier -- and got to work assembling a lovely assortment of packages. Aside from polka-dots on the patterned paper, I also tried to use at least one other dotty element in decorating the envelopes. My favorite fine (from a few collections ago), was the black and white fabric flowers from On Trend, used on the yellow and green "Happy" envelope. I was so happy to discover that I still had one left!
These baby envelopes are the perfect size for gift cards and mini cards. I even created some mini cards to match a couple of them. I think the second best find was the product packaging from the Party Day Stand-Outs, which was very conveniently polka-dot, too! You just can't go wrong with polka-dots and I do, indeed, have a big, HUGE crush on them!
Wowwwwww! These are gorgeous!!!!!
