Happy Friday Everyone! For this week's edition of Crate 365 (formally known as "Project CP Life"), I would like to share my week 24 activities with all of you. It started out as quite the week in Singapore, enjoying delicious food and ending with a short trip to Bangkok, Thailand to catch up with friends.
In putting together this multi-page spread, I wanted a clean, calm look and therefore, restricted myself to 3 main color groups; black, brown and red. I found the perfect mix of DIY and Pier products to pull off the color scheme without a hitch!
To create consistency in and amongst the weeks covered, I chose to use the same weekly-number die-cut file on each spread. It's tough to stick with just one design like this because I've come across a lot of new designs since having started the project - guess we'll just have to wait and see how long I can keep my commitment to this one until I switch...anything is possible.
One of the things that I noticed is that my album is getting thicker by the week. Currently, I'm mid-way through my second album and am hoping I can keep this year to just three albums. Therefore, I plan to compromise on the layering (a bit). If layering on one side, the other side should remain relatively flat (so, I say or think that). On the backside of this weekly card, I opted for a simple design with minor journaling details.
And then of course, on the next page, I'm back to my layering self again, having fun with paper, twine and the must-have polaroid frames from The Pier collection.
In putting this card together, I first started by punching a heart from white cardstock. I adhered the negative space left behind by the heart to the backside of the frame. Then, taking one of the photo overlays from the DIY collection, I adhered it down on top the frame (love the blend of colors on the overlay). I trimmed all excess overlay from around the frame to keep it true to size. Lastly, I sprinkled a few droplets of white mist and wood stars onto the patterned paper beneath and adhered the framed heart to the area with pop-dots.
On the last page, I kept it simple with one journaling card and some pictures of my dearest back home. Missing them already!! Cute pups!
Have a great weekend you guys! Thanks for hanging out with us on this fine Friday - Happy Crate 365!
Love the simplicity. I think even I can handle such a PL format.
I journal with my handwriting only. It's easier for me and adds a homespun touch.
