Even though Father's Day has already greeted the world this month, recognition of Kimberly Neddo's layout and cards is in full swing! Kimberly is rejoining us after a small break and we're tremendously happy to have her back!

Hello to all my favorite creative people! Kimberly here to share with you another round of Crate Style. Today, I created a layout with the help of my two beautiful kids, Foster and Olivia. I absolutely LOVE The Pier line of products and embellishments. The kraft paper with bright colors is just the right balance to create a layout that can be used for both boys, and girls. The simple fact that I have a son and daughter that are very close, I tend to take a lot of pictures of them together. I was doing a photo session of Foster for his senior pictures, and of course, little miss had to jump in for a few, too. *Smiles*
For this layout, I began with two photographs that I just so happen to love; two sizes, one colored and the other, black & white. To give a punch of color all around, I matted the center paper with blue patterned paper. The pre-made embellishments were the perfect touch sprinkled throughout the page. I added more layers to those areas in need of greater focus. Also, I love the awesome clear letter embellishments! Ideal for title work, their color and size fit magically over photos without overwhelming them. Lastly, I tend to like to create embellishment clusters - the chipboard frames are a fun element to add to any collage work.
Beyond the inside borders of the layout, I took to distressing the outer edges to make them stand out just a bit more. I love the look it lends to a page! Then, to accentuate the pretty blue border, I used my ink dropper and added random drops of ink throughout. I supplemented them with gold sequins - both guide you around the page and frame it ever-so-slightly.

As a further expression of my liking The Pier, I thought you might like to see these cards, as well. Father's day has come and gone, but cards are enjoyable no matter what ;) Can never have too much inspiration in the card department...
These designs are easily converted to reflect upon other holidays - just switch out the title work!
Thanks for stopping by, friends! Happy scrapbooking!
