A Valentine's Day card shouldn't be given without that extra special something - Michiko here, to introduce you to my own personal version of Valentine's Day card happiness. It's simple, and still very pretty. Plus, I'll show you how to create a matching vellum envelope, a place for storing additional items someone might enjoy upon receiving your Valentine's Day treat.
The Essentials: Paper Heart Collection, Vellum Paper, Twine, Heart Shape Punch, Starburst Shape Punch, Eyelets, Card Ring, Sewing Machine, Knife, and Scotch Tape.
Trim a sheet of vellum paper to 5.5" x 10.5". In creating the envelope, I'm going to have you start from scratch. It's so simple, that once you try it, you'll realize just how convenient it is to make an envelope of this kind.
Using the listed measurements, draw the following envelope design as noted above. Trim the shaded areas from the design. The top portion of the envelope is freehand, so feel free to change the shape of it if you prefer a different style.
Punch two, 1" starburst circles, from a lingering vellum scrap. Position a eyelet through the center of each circle. They're to help fasten twine around the closure of your envelope so that it stay's securely intact.
Fold the vellum as shown. Adhere the circles to the envelope and twist a length of twine around both. Make sure to apply a small amount of adhesive upon gluing the circles down. I suggest that instead, you consider using small or medium sized glue dots. It'll make the process a lot easier!
Punch thirty hearts from Paper Heart's patterned papers (give or take). Many of them will find their way into the envelope - I chose to work with only three patterned papers.
Create a 3" x 3" photo message card, and slip it into the envelope along with the hearts. Tie the chipboard key to the envelope with the help of the twine. You're finished! This see-thru envelope is soooo cute!
Create a double-sided Valentine's Day card from multiple sheets of Paper Heart's patterned papers, chipboard pieces, and stickers. This is the front of the card - when you flip it over...
you'll find the backside and with it, are lots of pretty, layered circles, flowers, and a matching brad. Notice how the layered circle echo's the collection's flower designs!
Please feel free to re-create the card for a friend or family member, and make sure to include a gift with it! Thank-you for visiting and have a wonderful day!
