Cupcakes and punch, a perfect menu for a kids party, or any celebration for that matter! Today, we carry forward with our CHA creation series, Project Snapshot - a presentation of design team projects from the Crate booth. Something you might find on one or our tables is this "pretty party" set-up from Tara Anderson...

Sadly, the confette didn't make it to the show, but we love it none the less!  Now, how about a "Pretty Party" collection kit GIVEAWAY - feeling up to it? Project Snapshot :: CHA 2012 Winter/Spring

If you've ever attended a CHA event before, you know that around every corner, alongside all the new products, are projects galore from talented artists using the latest and greatest goodies. Most end up photographed at some point or another, and eventually, find their way to the crafts community to be shared and enjoyed by all! Well, the Crate Paper's booth is no exception! We love to fill our booth up with layouts, cards and altered goods from the talented CP design team! And as is par for the course, they didn't disappoint! Take a look at the following items from Rahel Menig and Anabelle O'Malley...

Crate Paper is on it's way to California!

Yes, we're well on our way to the sunny state of California with our newest collections, Story Teller and Pretty Party! If attending CHA, please take a moment to stop by and say "hello" to the Crate Crew, and Crate's design genius, Lisa (can't miss her, she's always smiling)!! Our booth is just across the way from American Crafts, at Number 1165, in the scrapbooking & papercrafts section. See you there!  

A final CHA project before officially departing....traveling in style, "Red Rider", from Christine Middlecamp.

 

The accordian flower is a Story Teller Stand-Out embellishment - note the shiny chipboard, a brand new feature with this release! Crate's chipboard now accomodates a gloss finish, rather than a matte finish. Also, it's of a higher quality chipboard, which we think you're going to love!

 

Our Journal Stickers have taken on a slightly different style this time around. With more room to write, and larger label options, you simply can't go wrong!

 

And don't forget to mingle with the new collections when at our booth - and the projects on display! Bring your camera, too. Safe travels.

Project Snapshot :: CHA 2012 Winter/Spring

 

 

Only a couple more days until Crate Paper takes flight to CHA in Anaheim, California! To make the CP booth a splendid place to be during the BIG event, and to give our visitors a favorable view of the new collections, on display will be numerous projects from the Crate Paper Design Team. If you're one of the lucky ones attending the show, we welcome you admire and photograph them at your leisure while visiting our booth. For those of you at home, you can find the projects right here on our blog starting today, and throughout next week - be prepared, you're going to love them!  

 

Pretty Party won my heart immediately. From it's soft pastel hues, to it's subtle patterning, I just knew it was the kind of collection that would lead to something beautiful. Three days later, and I had a new favorite layout, "Two of a Kind". It captures the personality of the collection in more ways then one and emphasizes it's sweet, endearing side. There's much to look at here, so let me share...

 

The florals beckoned to be supported by a handcrafted paper terrarium made from bits and pieces of the collection. In partnering Pretty Party's chipboard table with a "label shape" die-cut trimmed from transparency, I was abe to create one. I painted the edges of the "glass dome" with cream colored paint and sprinkled it with glitter. I housed beneath it a chipboard flower and a few additional embellishments before bordering the bottom of the dome with snippets of patterned paper, glitter-coated double sticky tape, and a suitable "Pretty Party" title (trimmed from one it's patterned papers). Finally, I donated the exterior to the collection's adorable chirping companion, Blue Bird.  

 

Here's an up-close peek at the glitter coated tape - use either traditional double sticky tape in working with this technique, or American Craft's "Red" tape, This to That Adhesive (available in a variety of widths).

 

I tied around the pink bundle of packages, a pink/white twine. It's an extra detail I thought might be kind of cute given that the packages are already wrapped in their own twine. Can never have too many bows ;)

 

This technique comes in handy time and time again - dimensional adhesive literally works magic as it brings paper and chipboard to life! The key is to use a thick, even coat of the material upon application..and make sure to allow it to fully dry before adding it to your project. Can't tell you the number of times I've ruined a good piece of chipboard this way...

 

I originally went with the idea of sequencing vintage shell buttons in a simple line format, but within a few minutes of studying them, the addition of colored rhinestones popped into my head. To vary things up a bit, I went with a random assortment of rhinestones.

Crate Paper 2012 Spring Release Winners

As a final thank-you for joining us last week during Crate Paper's 2012 Spring Release Party, we've to announce the two WINNERS from the special event! Welcome Back, we are so excited you came by to celebrate the reveal of our Pretty Party Collection. It is Lisa here with you today and I'm tickled pink to share this adorable collection with you. Pretty Party has one of my favorite trend in it..pastel colors. I love soft layouts with alot of white / cream, pinks and netruals with pops of color. I also love to attend sweet girl parties..all the pink makes me giddy. I decided lets put the two together...trendy pastel colors and parties...the result was this adorable collection full of girly designs. I hope that the next time you go to celebrate anything pink you will think of Pretty Party.

Inspired by vintage magazines and sewing patterns, this sweet collection transports you to a garden party, complete with strawberries and cupcakes. Pretty party is perfect for birthdays, everyday celebrations — any reason for little girls to dress up in pink. Or my daughter's favorite type of party ... a tea party.  Whatever your reason may be to clebrate, go ahead and make it pretty.

This collection is about your story and your journey in life. It has elements of travel and office supplies mixed throughout, along with a rich & soft color palette to bring your story to life.  Of course the collection has may eclectic pieces to mix things up a bit and make each project you create using storyteller as unique as you are. Here is to life's stories and those yet to come...be your own storyteller and leave behind your journey for future generations.
