You might remember that Crate designed some exclusives for our February kit, and they've done it again for our August kit. BOARDWALK features two beautiful double sided papers made by Crate Paper - and you'll only see them in this kit! Our design team loved the Crate exclusives & couldn't wait to use them! Here's a little peek at what they've made with the papers. You can see the full projects in our BOARDWALK gallery.

 

We want to give one of YOU a chance to work with these awesome papers as well - so how about a giveaway?! We've reserved one of our BOARDWALK kits for a lucky Crate fan! Final CHA Design Team Projects :: Part I

The last couple of days of the month are going to encompass a couple of more layouts from our design team members, meaning that Monday will bring us back to the usual scheduled programming here on the Crate Paper blog. That being said, we're going to make every effort to showcase more of your work, so if you've something to share, please pass it along to us so that we may take a peek at it for possible posting. Our project submission address is [email protected]! And just so you're aware, it doesn't matter the collection you've constructed your project from, as long as it's 90% Crate Paper, we'd be happy to share it with everyone who visits us and just maybe, you'll be asked to guest design in the future! How about that for some added excitement to those of you who've submitted or plan to submit at some point? Plus, the new collections are to be available in less than four weeks - be on the lookout for those as well! 

 

An unexpected sunburst effect is what immediately captured our attention with Rahel's CHA layout - the carefully positioned patterned papers and photo placement is an instant hit! The layout is exquisite from corner to corner...

 

And classic "Jaime Warren", Peppermint's patterned paper snowflakes are as sweet as ever! Topped with a sampling of our smaller chipboard pieces (yes, those small bits are entirely usable!!), they're multi-layered and perfectly situated across various spots of the page. Reminds us that it'll be Winter once again..but, let's not jump too far ahead! 

 

And one last share, this second Peppermint layout from Erin Stewart takes on a slightly lighter, airier note than the previous, but it's dazzling snowflakes and adorable photos are too cute not to miss! It's simplicity is to be admired...

A Card Presentation w/Amy Heller

Now we've been holding onto these for a unique opportunity to showcase them all at once since Amy Heller devoted a great deal of time in creating them for use and display at the CHA event last week. And when it comes to cards, our CP Card Experts, Amy Heller and Sarah Martina, always manage to impress us to no end since their handmade applications go above and beyond the call of duty! We're routinely astonished by their ability to take a simple piece of chipboard along with a few quaint stickers and buttons, and output a beautiful card that's inescapably recognizable as one of their own. They constantly amaze us at the Crate office! We're quite the lucky bunch to have them as members of the Crate design team another term..here's a look at Amy Heller's first set of cards from all three new collections!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This should just about satisfy our card fans out there! Thank-you so much Amy for the gorgeous assortment of cards, and also, the time and energy that must of went into the production process of the vast array of ideas presented here..it's been a pleasure to share them! We hope our blog visitors have enjoyed them as much as Crate has!

Two Designers + Four Layouts

A growing community of scrapbookers is taking hold overseas in Japan and quite luckily, we've two of them with us as contributing designers. You might already be familiar with both the girls, especially Kaori Watanabe since she's been with Crate for nearly a year-in-a-half, but the second designer, Michiko Kato, just recently joined the team after having submitted several Crate Paper projects to our office (yes, sharing your work with us matters!) a month or two ago. We immediately fell in love with her carefully choreographed, heavily detailed scrapbook style after she'd worked wonders with the Neighborhood collection - her take on it was unlike anything we'd seen before - because of this, we're extremely excited to have her as a member of the Crate Paper the next six months and hopefully, you'll take to her beautiful layouts just as we have - here's a sampling of a few newly produced layouts from both Kaori & Michiko!

 

Random's "Vintage" patterned paper really does offer up a pleasant array of floral trimmings for building upon if you're the kind of scrapbooker than enjoys the process of making your own strewn about flower assortment. Kaori's trimmed a small sampling of flowers from the paper and layered them accordingly to fit beneath her page's title. 

 

 

Farmhouses "Bingo" card is perfect for the housing of Crate's new buttons - Kaori patiently stitched them onto the card with the assistance of twine and added the card as an accent piece to her free-flowing, traditional "Clothesline". Love them little clothespins too! 

 

 

 

We're so thrilled to see Farmhouse's custom upholstered couch make it onto a layout!! Michiko's incorporated it into her layout's overall title and on top of it, she's added our adorable, miniature type alphas!! The golden flower pulls it all together :)

 

And finally, a second layout from Michiko, taken to snow and everything else Winter-related, Peppermint is it's own neighborhood with falling snowflakes and the too cute image of Michiko's sweet daughter. It's simply precious.

 It'll be card making day, tomorrow - we'll share with you Amy Heller's collection card assortment from both CHA and at home. And as you might of already guessed, Amy Heller's cards are always a delight to admire! See you then!

 

Collection Winners + A Special Peppermint Mini Album

We've quite a bit to catch up on, so we're just going to jump right into today's content with the announcement of two winners from last week's giveaways. The first giveaway winner is from Tuesday's Pre-CHA post and the prize up for grabs is the "Farmhouse" Collection!! So, which one of the generous commenters will be proudly reigning in the UPS man for the Farmhouse collection in the next couple of weeks? Allow us to congratulate the following mention...

The second giveaway is from our most recent, big debut CHA summary! We asked of you to figure out which item from the Crate Paper booth resembled one of "Random's" chipboard shapes and nearly all of you guessed right! We love our "polka-dot" chipboard bird, so much so, that we made a replica of it via an actual cage and matching painted bird set - did you happen to notice them really adorable birds in the cage? Well, this person did and she's the brand new, first-to-have Random winner!!

We received a lot of rave reviews in response to the fresh, upcoming Peppermint release, so it seemed the most ideal collection to illustrate as a holiday-friendly mini album - we're guessing that lots of you produce the same kinds of miniature works of art right around November/December either as gifts or as quick projects for the documenting of celebratory gathers or long-standing holiday traditions. Here's a beautiful album that had been on display in our booth during CHA last week - it's from our CP Designer, Suzanne Sergi...

 

And finally, a few last minute close-up images of the cover - isn't this album simply exquisite? We'd been informed that it took Suzanne a solid couple of days to create it and no wonder, the details are ceaselessly endless and eye-catching! It's now very much a highly favored project here at Crate Paper! Thank-you Suzanne for having contributed the album to our Peppermint's Grand Debut! 

Throughout the rest of the week, the plan is to bring forth the varied and numerous projects from our designers produced exclusively for you to enjoy as we go about preparing for their end-of-August release. Hey Everyone, it is Lisa here with you today to share photos of our booth at CHA.  We are having a great time in Chicago this year and really have loved seeing all of you. For those of you who couldn't make it we wanted to bring the booth right to you. We downsized the booth this Summer and we think it has a fun boutique feel that we love.

We are also running a fun contest today. Look through all the photos and let us know what painted objects resemble a chipboard piece in the Random Collection. CHA Begins Tomorrow + Farmhouse Giveaway!

We're rounding out the week with previews of projects from the Crate Paper team and also, a sneak peek at the Crate Paper booth as they head straightway into CHA! Yep, already CHA will be in full swing tomorrow and from what we've been told here at the warehouse, the booth is prepped and ready for the big debut!! Can you believe it, another round of CHA so close in the making? Where does time ever go these days? Can't keep pace with it all, but the excitement is most definitely bittersweet as the collections go on display...if lucky enough to be at the show, make sure to stop by and say "hello" to Steve & Lisa tomorrow!!

Happy Pre-CHA Friday! We are getting ready to leave for Chicago to show off our new Fall collections to our CP retailers. Before we leave we want to offer a giveaway to one lucky retailer that gets to pick a full collection of their choice. This prize retails for $633.00!
