Welcome to another weekend of brand new creations from our designers. We actually just came over from a quick visit to Amy Heller's blog after hearing of last week's news that she had finally finished her mini card album, which by the way, is unbelievably adorable! So we snuck a couple of pictures and brought them here for you to enjoy - below are a couple of more sample images of the album..and rumor has it that in the near upcoming future, it'll be taught as a class!! We'll send along more info about it as soon as the details roll in! How lucky for those that'll be taking this class w/Amy Heller...
In total, the album is 20 + pages!! It makes you wonder what the album might feel like when held in one's hands. That's an astonishing amount of work that Amy took on, though well worth the effort as the album is for her sweet daughter. We're almost certain that her daughter must of fell immediately in love with the album upon her glimpsing at it for the first time. Can you imagine your mom making one of these for you? What a very special treat...never to be forgotten.
And now let us take you a completely different direction with Heidi's newest Crate Paper layout, Beehive. Had any of you out there caught wind of the story behind the layout? If you read closely the journaling, there's a reason for the transformational hairstyle that Heidi's catering in the photo and it has something to do with October and the likes of Halloween. Who would of guessed? We're loven' the beehive look...and the hand-trimmed hexagons that go with it so perfectly!
And this one's been out there from Larissa Albernaz. We spotted it yesterday on Pinterest (yes, Crate is crazy about Pinterest, but lets save the backstory for another day, shall we?!) and weren't at all surprised to see it there. Larissa's layouts are straight-up fun and full of life! This one is no exception to that statement - the little bit of Toybox and doodling are almost impossible to miss as there's lots of it to admire...
We've a favorite color combo at Crate and Michelle must of gotten word of it because her Flower Girl layout accurately exemplifies the three colors that make up the combo. Anyone feel liking taking a guess as to which three colors from the layout that Crate is quite fond of these days? How about Pink, Turquoise and Yellow (with a snippet of Kelly Green) - these three colors continue to be extremely popular within the design industry. Michelle's captured their softer side - we love the framed journaling as it incorporates all three hues!
Returning to the mini album concept, Larissa brought us a second project for this weekend's showcase - it's of an album that she was challenged to create on a five buck budget! How about that for a bargain album - we would of never guessed it! You had us completely fooled Larissa! This is gorgeous and the detailing is still above and beyond remarkable!
All we have to say about this is "WoW!" - check this album out from Jen Chesnick!! The beaded edging, pretty florals, re-situated umbrella, layered chipboard heart are just a few of the fabulous features from the album that first caught our eye when we'd received it last week. We even went so far as to ask Jen for tips in managing all that glitter! What's the magic in getting it to stick to chipboard without it fallen' off? She replied that it takes a steady hand and an even application of adhesive, along with practice and patience...and she still managed to create the album in a day. Amazing!!
Thank-you for hanging out with us this weekend you guys! We'll rejoin you Monday with another brand new post..in the mean time, have a great weekend!
