Hi everyone! Sarah here today to share you some fun crafty ideas for Crate Paper Product: 5 Ways! As a fellow fan of Crate Paper, I’m sure you are very familiar with the broad array of beautiful products that CP offers. But if you’re anything like me, you may be one of those crafters who snags up lots of pretty product, and then hits a creative road block when it comes time to unpack and use it all.
Today I’m here to help alleviate that road block (hopefully), by sharing 5 ways to use one of Crate Paper’s newest (and hottest!) additions to its product lines… the gorgeous Ribbon and Trims.
I have created 5 tags to serve as miniature palettes of Ribbon & Trim inspiration. I encourage you to take these techniques and use and apply them to your crafty projects, no matter what size or shape!
Floral Layers
This first technique is probably my most favorite use of ribbon… and that is using your ribbon to add layers to flowers. It’s a fast way to dress up those flowers, giving them a fresh new look. Simply use some quick drying adhesive to ruffle and adhere your pretty trim to the back of your flower petals, allowing the trim to “peak-a-boo” a bit from behind. You also could continue to layer additional strips of ribbon and trim for more impact.
Ribbon Tails
Fancy award ribbons are a hot trend right now… but if you want to create something that looks just as great as the award ribbons in stores, the coordinating Crate Paper ribbon is perfect for doing that. Once you’ve created the base of your award ribbon (I made a simple accordion folded flower here), choose 2 coordinating strips of ribbon and layer them together with some firm adhesive. One that’s dry, snip the strip in half, and trim the ends at an angle. Adhere the two smaller strips behind your base, and you have some cleverly coordinating ribbon tails!
Borders
The quickest way to add some “oomph” to your project with Ribbon & Trim is to simply create a fancy border. Here I layered ribbon and trim from 3 of the 4 collections, and I love how well they all coordinate! Bordering with ribbon looks great when anchoring photos, project titles, or journaling blocks, too.
Embellishing Embellishments
We all adore the gorgeous chipboard embellishments that CP offers, but sometimes it is fun to add a little extra “something” to them. I wish I had an entire jar of these sweet chipboard lollipops, they’re so adorable just the way they are. But by adding a tiny bow to the lollipop stick, (and a little glitter), this sweet chipboard treat is taken up a notch! One thing I love about Crate Paper’s Ribbons and Trim is the large variety in sizes that they come in. This narrow ribbon was perfect for this small embellishment.
Flowers
Not only can you embellish your flowers with these ribbons and trims, but you can create them from scratch! I created this flower by folding 2 strips of ribbon into a figure 8, and layering them together. Then, I created cut a strip of trim and adhere the ends together. I laid it flat to create the folded over petals. I repeated this twice for the pink trim and the red ribbon. Such a quick flower!
Well, I hope that I have done all of Crate Paper’s beautiful Ribbon and Trim its due justice, as I simply cannot get enough of the endless possibilities of creating with it! And again, I encourage you to take these techniques and product uses and apply them to anything… whether it’s a scrapbook layout, a card, an album or a fun DIY project!
Thanks for allowing me to spend some time with you today!... As always, it’s been such a pleasure! Hugs! ~ Sarah Martina

Of course, I love everything but what is the white, string like trim and is that something that CP carries?
Thanks!
