Hi everyone Jen Chesnick here with a brand new tutorial using Crate Paper’s new line Emma’s Shoppe. This line is by far my favorite of the new collections. It’s just too perfect! We are going to have some fun with a cool, easy to implement embossing technique.
The Essentials: Emma's Shoppe Paper and Embellishments, Acrylic Album, Embossing Powder and Heat Gun, Versa Mark Ink Pad, Glossy Accents, Large Background Pattern Stamp
Start by inking up your stamp with versa mark ink and apply it to one of the acrylic pages (you'll only be using one acrylic page for this project). When doing this, Keep in mind where your pattern lays on the acrylic. If you don’t get the stamp lined up the first time around, no worries! Simply wipe it off and try again (the benefits of plastic are fab!)
Cover your acrylic piece with a generous layer of embossing powder and tap off the excess to reveal your pattern. Using your heat gun, slowly heat your powder 'til is takes on a nice sheen. A tip to this is to use a thick acrylic page. If your acrylic is too thin, it'll warp, so be careful!
Once I had my page embossed, I ended up liking the backside of it better vs. the frontside! As you can see the frontside was super shiny. The backside is more vintage and weathered looking. I found the backside to have a much nicer finish for coinciding with the vintage feel of Emma’s Shoppe.
When I was satisfied with my embossing, I layered the backside of my acrylic page with a piece of pattern paper to peek through the embossed image. I adhered the paper to the backside of the acrylic using Glossy Accents (dries clear!) to ensure no show through of tape or glue.
Now for the fun part, decorating the page! I layered lots of embellishments from Emma’s Shoppe to create a fun wall hanging for my daughter Tori. Alongside my photo, I layered and mixed & matched various border stickers with punched border elements and used one of the Emma's Shoppe chipboard frames for accenting my focal point, which of course is my photo! Frames are so convenient for this kind of thing...
I hope this technique that I've shown has demonstrated another brand new use for those acrylic items you have in your stash! I love to create one of a kind embellishments for my projects and this is a great way to produce them via your own means. Please share your creations with us if you happen to utilize this technique! We'd love to see your interpretation of this idea!
I love how this came out! Great inspirational tutorial!

Love this! I was trying to figure out what paper you used for the background. That stamping technique works perfectly with the Emma's Shoppe line!
Love it!
