"He's checking his list, He's checking it twice, He's going to find out if you're naughty or nice.." What are you supposing that Santa will bring you this year? We've been thinking about this very thing because we have high hopes that he'll bring Crate Paper another great year of designs, products and projects! We're also desiring an abundance of gifts for our Crate Paper Fans as well, so if you haven't already (and by this point, most of you probably already have), visit each of the Happy Holiday entries and leave a few comments along the way as there are only one day 'til the gift giving begins!! What exactly is tucked beneath the Crate Paper Christmas tree this year? Well, how about $300 worth of Crate Paper goodies and gift cards to Crate & Barrel, Bath and Body Works, Two Peas in a Bucket and Starbucks!! The lucky recipients of these presents will be listed for all to see on December 22nd, after Santa makes his visit to the Crate Paper warehouse. Remember, he knows if your naughty or nice, so tell us how good you've been - share some Crate Paper love with us too!
Hello Crate Paper friends! Kelly Noel here to share a fun layout I created using the Snow Day collection. This collection has been my favorite of the last release…the bright colors are right up my alley and the embellishments are so versatile and fun! I love gaining inspiration from all different sources…the inspiration for this layout came from an ad I tore from a magazine. I loved the way they pieced together that rocket with the photos/rectangles and thought the same idea could be used for a Christmas tree.
Here's what you'll need to recreate this layout:
Snow Day 12 x 12 Chipboard Accents
Blizzard paper
Mittens paper
Candy paper
Festive paper
Melt paper
My Christmas tree came together very quickly…I simply cut strips from various patterned papers at differing lengths and adhered them onto my page in the shape of a tree. I printed the small photos as an index sheet from my photo editing software and cut them out, leaving a small white border around the edge of the photos (so clever!).
After adhering the strips of patterned papers, I used foam adhesive (pop dots) to adhere the photos to my "tree". Adding that bit of dimension really adds to this layout.
Once my tree was finished, the rest of the layout was a cinch to throw together using the adorable chip pieces from the 12x12 Snow Day chipboard accents.
I hope you've enjoyed this quick layout tutorial and I hope it helps you to see the inspiration all around you. Find something to be inspired by and see what you can come up with. I'd love to try this same idea and do a fun boy layout with the rocket ship shape! Have a great day! :)
So, cute things come in small packages, especially those things made by Lolly! Here's a mini widow box she put together using a Sizzix die - frame & frame backing. Check out the realistic snow she's powdered along the top of the design - want to take a guess at what material she's used for this? It looks almost edible..cute, cute, cute.
The best gifts are those given that are personally hand-wrapped with pretty papers and special embellishment toppers. These came to us from Ania Jo Alexander, one of our CP Girls whom's work we admire greatly. She's coordinated a delicious box of chocolates from the 36+ box (have to be at least 36 years of age to eat'em!), though she mentioned that she forgot to grab a photo of edible treats to share with us. That's ok, probably would of made us hungry anyway...sigh. Love chocolate.
We've but a couple of last minute blog reader submissions to post today - they're the last that we'll have on the blog before Christmas's arrival and the winning announcements on Wednesday. This first one belongs to Heather - it includes plenty of Crate Paper's Snow Day, including epoxy accented lil' lightbulbs which she hand-trimmed from our Sparkle patterned paper before covering with dimensional glue. Great idea Heather! We love it!
Not only do we think Bethany Crowell's layout is oodle's of fun, but the photo too is quite something! That is a serious mountain of snow to be sledding down - wowza! In conjunction with the layout is a Mr. Snowman card that houses two phrases synonymous with Winter; "brrrr" & "I love Winter". We thought them to be perfect winter-friendly phrases when having created the Snow Day stickers. They're interspersed by twine too! Another fabulous idea!!
Do know what this means now that we're at the end of this post? Essentially, there is only one more day left of projects you guys, followed by a long list of winners! Also, just so that you're fully aware of what else we have in store for you since we're working with Teresa Collins this week - they'll be four additional kits up for grabs! Visit Teresa's blog for the whole scoop tomorrow morning and then revisit us here to participate in the new contest! More to come - stay tuned!
Wow...again! This post is so full of crafty goodness!!! Love these projects!

We bought an external hard drive for a backup of our photos. The other file on there is for Crate Paper ideas. I check the blog daily and save all the ideas. I am great at duplicating and adapting an idea. LOVE all of your stuff. Now if I could just find some time to create!

Thank you Crate Paper for the WONDERFUL inspiration on your blog! When alot of other blogs are "closed up" for the holidays, you keep us interested and entertained until the last moment! This is our "grown up Christmas wish" come true!!! I have several favs for today, but my top pick for immediate recreation is the initial tree layout! I just happen to have the perfect photos to pull it off! And, for the record...I've been good...VERY, VERY GOOD...just ask me!!!
