We greatly appreciate the kit clubs out there that support CP by including our products in their kits! We happened upon this gorgeous, well stocked kit over at Noel Mignon's website. If you're not familiar with Noel's kits, you're truly missing out! Her kits are often packed with lots and lots of product and are always beautifully presented. She's a visionary color stylist - her color combinations always take our breath away. We noticed that just recently, Noel included much of our Brook collection in her "Sonoma County" kit. Both Noel, and the Noel Mignon design team, put together a whole series of projects using this latest kit. We couldn't resist sharing some of their inspiring projects here on our blog...rumor has it, and we may be wrong because we know just how quickly Noel's kits sell out, that there remains one kit to be had...good luck!

 

Scrapbook designer, Virginia Tillery, created this welcoming floral sign - there's a free tutorial to recreate the sign at the Noel Mignon blog. 

 

 

A perfect combination of Crate Paper and Disneyland, thanks to scrapbook designer, Jana Eubank. And who would of thought that green and blue would work so well on a disney inspired layout? Very cool!

 

 

Guest Designer, talented Anabelle O'Malley, added Crate Paper's Brook Sparkle Chip to this brightly colorful layout about Easter egg dying.  

 

 

 

 

 

Noel herself has been busy working away with her latest kit - she's a mom of three boys, two of which are twins! 

 

Utilizing her very own layout sketch, Kim Moreno pieced together the above layout. We like how she created paths in which to sit her embellishments...the flowers are darling. 

Yes, Summer is just on the horizon for some of you! Michele Kovack's layout has us think'en about the upcoming season - time to wash the car!

 

Another project from Virginia Tillery - look at all those hand-cut hearts! A simple detail that speaks volumes!

Wednesday Inspiration

We're on the hunt for Crate Paper inspiration! Some of you have already been busy working with our collections and have emailed us your latest projects. Carly Blaiss :: Brook Collection

 
 Valerie Bishop designs for a local scrapbook store in Little Rock, Arkansas - Scrapbook Corner. She was recently asked to choose a product line in which to create a layout from and she chose our "Brook" collection! How cool is that?! Your layout is beautiful Valerie! The banner and flowers are precious. Thank you for sharing!

 

 Mara Campbell got a hold of some of our "Pink Plum" collection and created this simple, sweet layout a couple weekends ago. She also sent us a layout hosting our "Season" collection - Thanks Mara!

 

Sarah De Guzman :: Paper Doll Collection

 

Well known designer, Aida Haron, from Singapore forwarded us her two layouts to take part in our SGND contest. We're a fan of Aida's multi-layered, heavily detailed scrapbooking style. She's created these layouts from our "Brook" collection for "Made With Love", a popular scrapbook store in Singapore.

 

 
 We love the quilting on this card from Allison Cope. It works perfectly for framing the sweet girl on this card. Allison's also sent us the above patchwork layout using our "Brook" collection - That little guy is so cute!

Here on the Crate Paper blog, we have a couple of features you may not already know about: Email Mondays & SGND Posts(Scrapbook Girl Next Door). Email Mondays is an opportunity for us to share your creations with our readers. Every other Monday, we collect and gather samples of your work and post them on our blog. CP Guest Designer:: Tips & Techniques

We have a wonderfully talented designer with us today that many of you are familiar with. She's a member of the 2010 Creating Keepsakes Dream Team and is a Two Peas Garden Girl. Jen Jockish's scrapbook style is boldly colorful with a flair for all things vintage. She's remarkably creative with pattern papers and has a serious knack for layering and detailing elements of all varieties. We simply adore her work here at CP. This is our third time inviting Jen back to work with our products - she's with us today to share her ideas using both our Brook and Paper Doll collections. Follow along below!

"Little Girls are a Gift" :: Paper Doll Collection

 

For this page, I wanted to showcase a few small techniques I use on a lot of my layouts to add a little pop. Betweem working full-time, raising a family and scrapbook commitments, I have very little extra time so I am all about quick and easy ways to make my pages pop. 

Ribbon pleat: Cut a few strips of 12x12 patterned paper to desired thickness (each in the same width), fold in very small increments. You will run out of paper quickly, so simply lay your next strip on the underneath side of your last fold and fold over, no-one will be able to tell. This is a really quick and easy way to add texture to your page, especially if you don't have ribbon. 

More dimension: I love foam adhesive. It's just another small thing that I think adds so much to a page. For this page, I've used varying heights for different elements; the flowers are all at different heights as is the patterned paper. All you have to do is just stack your foam adhesive one on top of another until you get the height you want. You do need to keep in mind that it will be difficult to add stitching or brads later...so add them beforehand if you think of it. 

Black pen work: My favorite technique, and an absolute no-brainer. I love to outline my elements with a thin black line, on this page I've done this to all the flowers. Again, I just feel like it's one of those things that really makes pages pop and it's so simple to do. 

 

"Play All Day" :: Brook Collection

 

It's rare that I can use one collection from any company on a page; I love to mix and match patterns that are a little outside the box. I love and adore Crate paper though for just that reason; the designs are outside of the norm and I've had no trouble mixing and matching them. Even with just one line you can come up with so many different looks. The embellishments and elements they've created for each line are fantastic too; you can really customize any page to your individual style quite easily. Layer the rub-ons, add some chipboard or cardstock stickers and you'll get a different look every time.

We've rounded up a fantastic selection of designers for you to help us out here at the Crate Paper blog. For the next three to four months, you're going to see gorgeous, fresh designs from these ladies. We can hardly wait to see what they create for us...and you :) 

We would like to cordially thank all of you who submitted to our recent call! Let it be known, it was a daunting task for us to select only a handful of designers from the hundreds of applicants we received in the last few weeks. Originally, we planned for only ten blog contributors. After a great deal of thought, and simply because we couldn't make up our minds, we went with twenty blog contributors instead of just ten. All of them are amazingly talented and starting in a few short weeks, each will be contributing new ideas and projects to our blog! How lucky are we?! So, let us formally introduce you to our newest group of CP designers:
