Hello everyone! Enza here, and today I'm sharing a set of interactive cards that are super easy and fun to make. What I love about interactive cards is that you can “play” with them and discover unexpected surprises.
My main inspiration came from the envelopes in the Here+There collection. I thought to myself... How fun would it be to receive a card loaded with lots of pretty things?
For my first card, I picked an envelope that is fairly large, it has a light background, a wide opening at the top, and a window that will showcase the content of the card. I went with the travel-related theme – it is a sort of invitation to go on an adventure!
I created three different inserts by adhering ephemera pieces, stickers, and rub-ons to patterned papers cut to size with a scalloped frame craft die. The scalloped edge makes me think of clouds, so I thought it would be perfect for this type of card. I left the journaling card for “Places I want to see” blank, so the recipient can make a list of favorite spots to visit, while the main sentiment/invitation was placed on a separate card that will be visible through the acetate window. To pull the inserts out of the envelope and give the recipient a hint of what to do, I threaded bakers twine through little holes I punched previously.
I also decided to decorate the envelope a bit. After cutting a piece of patterned paper to use as background, I added strips of washi tape on the outside, as well as die-cuts and two super fun and colorful tassels. I love how it turned out!
The second card has the same design, but this time I made my own envelope and opted for a vertical orientation. I used the gorgeous Flourish collection.
I simply cut a 9”x6.25” piece of double-sided cardstock and folded it in half. I liked the scalloped effect on the previous card so much that I decided to use it on this card as well. I created a window and adhered a piece of acetate behind it; then with a smaller craft die I cut another scalloped frame and foam mounted it in the middle. I decorate the front with the beautiful Flower Shop ephemera piece, butterflies, washi tape and two sticker sentiments.
I went with tag-shaped inserts for this one. Each tag has a different sentiment and embellishments from the collection. The cute little tassels work perfectly as pulls here.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you'll feel inspired to create some inteactive cards with the gorgeous Crate Paper collections.
