Hi everyone! The theme of the week is "garden" and it sure is timely! This year we tried the "garden tub" that little ones can use to practice gardening while at the same time decorating the garden. My 4-year-old daughter participated and had a great time with her dad, while I snapped pictures. We had to capture the right moment between father and daughter.
For this, I chose to make a 12x12 page for this album. You can agree that the Bloom Collection by Maggie Holmes is perfect for this theme. For the background, I have not changed my habits. As always, I used Bazzill white yardstick underneath my layout :)
First, I stapled a large pink and white striped piece of paper and then layered two floral papers on top, simply to recall the theme of gardening. Before pasting the pictures, I added a few ephemera tags and a Project Life card. I then added a few stitches on top of the pictures.
Then, I added the nice banner from the chipboard sheet. This introduced several colors. Thus, I added elements to go specificially with this banner, such as the cute little pink tassel I placed on the tag. To finish decorating my page, I added some stickers, also from the Bloom Collection.
Finally, I used a typewriter for my journaling and cut out strips of text. I love doing that and I think it adds a nice effect on pages or in mini albums. Personally, I don't enjoy writing by hand.
I don't think I will ever get tired of this beautiful collection by Maggie Holmes and I hope my layout will inspire you!
